And guys don't usually like when I joke about becoming a bodybuilder either. Not that I would, but training for a fitness competition seems like a lot of fun. | |

My Dad feels threatened that I'm stronger than him and always tells me that I will never be able to marry if I continue to work out like that. My mom and my uncle tells me the same thing. I shrug it off and asked them: "What made them think that my body is a marriage business?" Most guys (Also guys with the most fragile egos) I've encountered are turned off by women who are more confident, more intelligent, more assertive, articulative, and especially women who are physically superior than they are. I know I've scared off plenty of guys for being too "energetic" or "spunky" for them, but I did meet a few who appreciated me as being their match.
From how I see things, women with great physical shape are in an advantage in the dating game. They weeds off insecure, puny boys who aren't man enough to stand beside a strong woman without feeling inadequate, and attract men who are self confident enough to accept the better package 
(Besides, just think Angelina Jolie. What men don't want a woman like that? Hell, even I wants her without being a lesbian!) | |

Posted: 1/26/2006 1:11:33 PM | I mainly find that the men who don't date muscular females are ones who aren't into the fitness/body building lifestyle. I workout pretty much every day (cardio and weights), and the ones that seem attracted to me are also very muscular.
I love going to the gym because the eye candy is soooooo sweet!!! hehehe | |

I was emailing a woman who was into bodybuilding. We decided to meet - she was flying into an airport near me after a conference, so we decided to meet there and spend the afternoon together.
Well, she walks off the plane, and I was nearly in shock! There she is bursting out of tiny shorts and tank top, with arms bigger than my thighs! She was like Arnold Schwarzenneger in drag - only he's prettier! LOL I was the rhesus monkey with the gorilla! EEK!
Well, we did spend the afternoon together, and she was a delightful person. However, the slight difference in our builds was something of a turnoff.  | |

The best thing about it for me is that she wants me bigger than I already am, whereas the other girls I have dated always want me to lose some size. I love the fact that she accepts me for what I am.
So, if bodybuilding is important to you, I highly suggest meeting someone with similar interests. It takes a lot of stress out of the relationship | |

Lol are you deciding that for me? It's not a matter of "whether I like it or not, my body determine the kind of guy who will marry me", because frankly, I have never given marriage any serious thought and being a self oriented artist, I doubt I will ever marry in this life time \\
Besides, the guys I dates usually will not notice if I'm black or white or asian. He will certainly notice the real contents behind the "mask", so to speak.
You're right about something - I've yet to be seriously involved with one of those men who viewed me as an equal (as opposed to being superior to them). But hold that thought, a mutual attraction is being shared with a great guy in my university, who also happens to be my role model in life.
A woman that is more assertive than me, hahahaha, articulate, npow theres a possability, but you would have to stop talking funny, physically superior, oh, I get it, you were involved witht he last thread, dating migets.
No clue what you're trying to say here.
Stick in there sweetheart, you just might make it after all

This is the biggest issue that comes to play... LIFESTYLE.
It is very hard for anyone really into bodybuilding to be able to identify with someone that is not into it.
Good news is, there are sights for like minded people of all sorts and there is even a couple sights where bodybuilders can come together to meet.

I used to work out seriously about 5 years ago...but I found that it put most men off..no I wasnt that big...my arms were - but quite defined etc. Also it was hard to maintain and when I eased off I had to work twice as hard to ensure it didnt turn to flab and fat as I reduced back down again. Just decided I didnt have the interest to maintain it at the level you are talking about- it also takes a lot of time and a fair whack oout of your social life. For me, the social life won out
You seem to be an exception, but why the heck not. Obviously you work out as well and it takes a lot of dedication. You wouldnt do it if you didnt like the way it looks and so you find musculature attractive on other people as well. I dont see anything unusual about that. But it really is a lifestyle thing...
I dated a bodybuilder for 2 years...it took up 6 days of our week and the food and diet was quite strict. It just got to me in the end...he had to eat at certain time and if he couldnt get to food he would complain a lot. But maybe that was more his personality. We couldnt go out if he was competing the next day... and so on...so mehhhh...
you both really have to love that way of life to get on...if I were you I would start looking at dating poeple in the fitness industry for obvious reasons.... | |

Posted: 1/26/2006 10:06:43 PM | I was seriously into weight training but I've let up a bit. I was blessed (?) with a body that is very easy to get some amazing muscles pretty much everywhere. In my gym, a lot of the men are top heavy and I have nicer muscle on my legs and most of them. (my legs also look better in a skirt)
I always felt really uncomfortable walking around the gym when I was more muscular... I felt like guys were more competitive with me than seeing me as a sexy woman. They used to fight over who would be my spotter...  but they stopped after a while. Outside of the gym I don't like wearing revealing clothing so a lot of guys think I'm a little "thick" even though I'm way leaner than they are.
I think that's why I let the weight program slide a little... | |

Obviously some men are so physically feeble that they feel threatened by female muscularity, but I am such a specimen that this insecurity could never happen to me.
