I've noticed over the past year that my taste in music has really changed. Now I pretty much like and listen to everything but country. I've tried my hardest to listen to it..but I just can't seem to do it!!

I would consider it expanded more than changed. I still like the same stuff I've always listened to, but since I've started to play guitar, i've gotten into more stuff.

AW hell, yeah. Back around 1991 I had long hair and used a friggin crimping iron and eyeliner and just HAD to have a BC Rich. Then it was a plaid shirt, eight hole docs and a pearl jam tshirt because I was bound and determined to be the next Chris Cornell. Now, all grown up I know that music and fashion are NOT related in any way and musical classification is an invention of music stores. I find that I am listening to a lot of DK and, oddly, Motorhead, and play in a blues band on the weekends.....i dunno.

I have to agree with Murphy in that my taste has expanded over the years. I can remember high school in the 70s listening to ELP, Yes, King Crimson but refusing to listen to bands like Kiss because I thought that they were to comercial. Now I appriciate all forms of music, that doesn't mean "I get it" with all types of music though!
Rock on!!!!

i can't believe i used to blast AC/DC all the time.....now i can hardly stand to listen to them. but my tastes have broadened over the years: tom waits, dave mathews, u2, greenday, the dead, john mayer, pink floyd, led zep, maroon 5.......and some good old fashioned bluegrass.
it is fun to have a 12 year old that loves music that i can't stand!! it means all is right in the world.

I still enjoy the music i listened to when i was 16
The only changes or expansions to my tastes would be a bit more folk and classical

Ever since i was 12 or 13 KISS has been my favourite band and that was re-inforced when i saw the originals in concert 3 times, but i do listen to a wider variety now, i'd say my favourite singer is Chantal Kreviazuk and i am also a big fan of Kid Rock

My taste has DEFINATLY changed... I used to be a teeny-bopper, then I got into punk and ska, then into heavier rock, then back into punk and ska, then into emo, and now finally, I'm open to any form of "rock" *expressed as a broad category*, including classic rock. I have never been able to listen to rap or hip-hop or country though.. i've tried! but it just doesn'T work...

Nope, Im still the same. I like straight ahead hard rock, and delta blues.
I just found a new band called brand new sin. Killer! Pride and Glory are one of faves as well.

I have always liked and played metal, but none of the screaming junk. When they scream I change the station.

What I listen to changes as often as the weather. My tastes are so varied that it comes down to the mood I'm in. I can listen to country one day, rap the next, folk the next, and then punk. It's all gravy.

I've been back and forth with different types of music for as long as I remember. I was so into the "boy bands" at one point, country at another time, heavy metal, I've been through so many. So it's changed quite a bit over the years.

If it didn't change or expand or alter or grow ... however you want to put it.
I would then be a bit worried because that would mean that I haven't grown.

I have learned that there is good music and bad music and people can put all kinds of classifications on it but still ... to me its either good music or bad music... and funny bad music can be good in the right situation.

Music suits moods and there are so many moods and so much music ... I love it yet don't listen to music nearly as much as when I was younger... I have since learned that the natural music of life is worth listening to at times and shouldn't always be drown out by radios and tapes and cd's and mp3's and guitars and pianos and screatchy voices.

It was said by a great musician and its very true... the most important parts of music are the silent spaces. [and you will find them in all kinds of music]

In high school when I had hair down to my (_!_) I was into nothing but death metal. I can not stand rap to this day.. I use to hate country with a passion. Now I been through alot and lived out many country songs, I can relate to them now. Going through a breakup with somene you truly love is hard, and country reminds you of tat fact..

My tastes have definately changed. But I still listen to everything I used to listen to, I just listen to a wider variety of things. When I was in high school i listened to folk and rock mostly.. so James Taylor and Pink Floyd. Later I started to get into Jam Bands like the Dead and Phish.. next I added blues and jazz. Lately I've been listening to Industrial. I had listened to it before, but I'm appreciating it again. I think good music is good music, and life cycles around.... so what I might need one day, isn't the same as what I need the next.

I'd say in the last 5 years mine has.. I used to be mostly a "top 40's" type person, but now my brothers call me a "metal head"... I'm not that either. I like a little bit of everything~

Music sooths the soul. Have our tastes changed? Depends on what one see's in music. My tastes have not changed. I think that is because i dont get into the fads from labels that manufacter music for the mass. Anybody notice that Classic r&b rock still do it for me and artists still redo those classics 25 years later with new followings. When will somebody redo Vannila fudges Classic "keep me hanging on?

I wouldnt say my tastes have changed, but they have grown and expanded. I started listening to metal when I was a freshman in high school. Back then it was all about what was the most brutal, the most evil...whatever. Nowadays, the bands I like most are the ones that mix metal with other genres. Folk, classical, prog, jazz, etc. I like to think that while I am still a "metalhead", my tastes are a lot deeper than they were 10 years ago.
