| Men with mustaches and/or beards, Why and what?? Posted: 2/21/2006 6:15:56 PM | There are a ton of men out there, in life and on this site who I've seen with mustaches. I'd like to know if men really like having them, if women do, why some have them really thick and bushy like Tom Selleck, or a have a face like a grizzly bear? Are women really attracted to them? I have my own thoughts and know that's it's 'to each his own' but I'm curious about people's thoughts, men who have them and women who do/don't like them. For those who have them, do you like goatees more, less and how 'bout the rest of you women, what do you like???
I've always wondered about this.

And beards remind me of Captain Highliner or Pavarotti
A short, well trimmed and maintained goatee is as sexy as HELL.

My dad has a mustache. He's had it forever.
I never really knew why, until one day he trimmed it too much, and it was very uneven, so he shaved it off. He has nooo..uper lip what so ever. He looked so funny. hehe
And then he told me that he grew one to hide his non existant lip.
Too funny.

It may be news to some of you but many men have hair growing right there on their faces. It's built in. You don't have to have it transplanted or anything. I wonder why so many men in this part of the world shave off their facial hair. Why now at this point in time is the fashion to be shaved bare? I know some men just can't grow beards. But for many it is normal to have one. It looks good to me. It's masculine, and it gives babies something to hang on to when your hands are full carrying groceries in from the car.

Let's NOT go all natural. @Barracuda: What is for one is not for all. We are not talking about women's bodies and shaving, it is the discussion of men. Some men do not look good with facial hair, for other's it completely suits them and is very masculine looking. I reaffirm that it must be kept trimmed for my own personal preference. Other women may dislike any facial hair.
So, just because you don't like it on yourself doesn't mean it isn't sexy on someone else. BTW, I shave entirely... I am feminine because of my attitude, not because OF hair or LACK of. So, it goes the same for men, facial hair or not, it's preference and what suits them.
@Bumblewit.. thank you for your compliment. I appreciate that! ~RED~

I can only speak for myself but I have one of those "bushy hairy face thing" because it's what I want. I'm sure there's some women that are turned off by it, but you can't possibly live life trying to please other people based on how you look, unless your whole goal in life is to have sex with as many people as possible. So, to me it's one of those "This is me, and you can take it or leave it" type of deals.
But yeah, there's probably quite a few women out there that prefer someone that's clean shaven and has the look of a male model over someone that's hairy all over, just like there's lots of men out there that'd much prefer to be with a woman that has fake tits and looks like a model, but realistically most people aren't like that, and even if you find someone out there that meets your physical ideal, it likely won't matter in the long run if there's countless other things you can't stand about them.
I don't tell women how much makeup they should have on or their hairstyle or what clothes they wear so from my standpoint, they have no business telling me what type of facial hair I should keep.
People are too much like robots, wearing and looking whatevery they thinks gets them a better chance of getting laid.
