What defines kinky?

Just curious. Do most people think kinky is anything sexual related, or are there certain things that fall within 'normal' sex and certain things that fall within 'kinky'.

I think kinky is different for each person. Each personhas their own level of comfort with sex and anything that falls out side their comfort zone would be considered kinky.

I think it is defined as 'what you do in the bedroom but don't tell anybody without saying it in a hypothetical tense'.

Wookies, for example, I would consider kinky.

kinky is something (in my expert opinion)...something 1. rushed, 2. taboo, 3. having sex with someone you met on the internet the same night meeting them. 4. anal sex

BUT.

in regards to rushed...it could also be unexpected...like coming home early to your gf/bf and stripping naked ~ i.e. doing something spontaneous or wild!

taboo....um goddamnit. this could mean several things. not my genre of fun but whatever.

the last one is somewhat far out...even ridiculous to some people but hey it's all in the heat of the moment (i.e. handcuffs, whips, a girl fingering a guy in the ass as she jacks him off... OK I THINK I'VE TALKED ENOUGH...YIKES

i'm glad that i'm 'conventional' in many respects. you could say i'm happy with sex in these forms: oral/vaginal....haven't done anything else.

For me Kinky is anything I won't try. "Normal" is of course everything I like. (how's that for a Narcissistic point of view)

The first thing I think of is kinky is using a feather. Perverted is using the whole chicken.

Kinky is anything outside of the normally accepted. So if you are brought up in a society where everybody has uniformed group sex that is filmed...then getting caught in a sensitive one on one would be kinky.

Kinky would be something not usually done in your everyday sex routine. For instance, even a long wet kiss can be considered kinky if it's a rarity for that couple where as anal sex, if done all day, everyday is no longer kinky, but passe and routine, almost to the extent of being boring. You see?

An aside to coloradogal. Everyone is narcisistic to an extent, honey, it's just that they are too self-absorbed to admit it. Lol. You shouldn't feel any shame in stating your prefences. At least you have the guts to own up to your selfishness. I admire that.

Dictionary Definition
Kinky: 1. Tightly twisted or curled: kinky hair.
2. Slang Showing or appealing to bizarre or deviant tastes, especially of a sexual or erotic nature:
"his appetite for kinky filmmaking, unmitigated by any artistry" John Simon.

I think Kinky is only what you want it to be...if you want to play with Vegetables and call it Kinky so be it, if you want to shoot Ping Pong balls, have your partner catch them in their mouth and call it Kinky...Go For It!
I think if people think they are being Kinky there is that sense of being risque, it's a sense of sexual power, I know of some women that would even consider Oral sex Kinky. So I honestly think Kinky is whatever definition the individual places on it.

looking
Thats because the word Kinky reminded me of the first time I headed downstairs back in my teens and the big bushy afro was in. I had to eat a half a loaf of bread to get rid of that tickile in my throat.

kinky - (used of sexual behavior) showing or appealing to bizarre or deviant tastes; "kinky sex"; "perverted practices"
perverted
abnormal - not normal; not typical or usual or regular or conforming to a norm; "abnormal powers of concentration"; "abnormal amounts of rain"; "abnormal circumstances"; "an abnormal interest in food"

The problem is not in the defintion of kinky but what is considered "normal" I know what was considered "normal" 30 years ago when I was first having sex and what is considered "normal" has changed. Even within countries or cultures the norm is different.

My acid test is if you laugh about it with friends, the odds are it is kinky

"Kinky" is no more and no less than "sexuality which is significantly different from the accepted norms of society".

Just as "immoral" is just "actions that break the normal mores of society".

It's society itself that defines what is kinky and what is immoral.

Take the case of ancient Rome. Were the Romans "immoral" because a vast proportion of their population enjoyed the spectacle of gladiators fighting to the death in the amphitheatre?

Certainly if you try to apply the social mores of the modern world the answer has to be "yes". But you CANNOT apply modern mores to an ancient society in which they had no place. You can only apply to ancient Rome the mores that are appropriate to that society. Judge Rome by the standards that applied TO THAT SOCIETY.

Morallity and kinkyness are purely definitions of what most people feel appropriate.
