| What do we think of POF compared to other well known Australia sites Posted: 2/27/2006 3:40:21 AM | Compared to other well known Australia sites I would have to say this is the best one and best of its free and allows freedom of speech.
Compared to RSVP where you pay Credits and if you don't use all of them within a certain time they delete your credits and compared to Findsomeone where you literally can't say something because you can get reported and reprimanded severely.
I think POF admin need to be congratulating on realising that we need an Australian section and hopefully there will be other Australian's who contribute on this wonderful forum service.

| What do we think of POF compared to other well known Australia sites Posted: 2/27/2006 8:19:47 AM | Personally i like POF, but also there is another site: Ozdate Australia: www.ozdate.com.au
And NOPE no relation to my own nic....i have had this nic for yonks even before that site started.
I guess as mentioned like RSVP and alike, the bigger they get they take avantage of paying punters.
Some people simply enjoy the time to peruse profiles at their leisure rather than paying credits or having your profile deleted if it hasn't been used in 30 or 60 days like some sites do.
Keep up the good work POF.

| What do we think of POF compared to other well known Australia sites Posted: 2/27/2006 9:17:28 AM | i love this site for the forums and its free even better. rsvp is a total rip off and how dare they delete those expensive stamps. I used to use it but met a lot of creeps who are in it too lay as many females as possible. And whats with all the guys lying about their age and even height. | |

| What do we think of POF compared to other well known Australia sites Posted: 2/27/2006 12:43:34 PM | Like this site. Only been on a shorttime as a friend got me onto this one. Now they have the oz forum, makes it even better as well of course being free.
rsvp, i had credits lost my stamps as I had only used one in the time allocated. I wasn't happy girl. Given a time limit doesn't mean you will find any potential partner/friend in that time. You can't just just waste stamps on just anyone. So yes not happy with rsvp
Findsomeone is good, to use message boards etc you do have a small fee to pay.
This site is pretty good! So yes ya stuck with me here for a bit!

| What do we think of POF compared to other well known Australia sites Posted: 2/27/2006 11:01:40 PM | I reckon POF is the best site. I have had lots of mail. Some wasn't that tasteful but I just move on to the next one. I am all for free dating, especially being a single parent. Plus if you can't sleep it's fun to read the profiles and read the forum posts. Passes the time.
Never been on RSVP. Got no replies on Lavalife that were worthy and there seems to be more people on this site. Plus I keep getting new and different matches on a regular basis.

| What do we think of POF compared to other well known Australia sites Posted: 3/4/2006 3:01:04 PM | Welcome to POF kajira I think you are right the other site was not moderated nor was it to put it loosly actually monitored and nine times out of ten if someone was attacking you then you got the warning for answering back.
To those who have asked why I got banned from the other site for posting was because some people took the love of attacking me left, right and centre and well I answered back and Admin there took an exception to the rule and ruled that I promoted negative feeling on that board for actually answering back. Well what could I do when I actually did report some of them for attacking me and Admin didn't care a stuff.
Anyway this is a more friendlier board and hopefully it will be because there are lots of friends we can gain on here and it just goes to show that if we remain, calm, peaceful, civil and friendly then we should hopefully get along quite well.

| What do we think of POF compared to other well known Australia sites Posted: 3/5/2006 2:43:20 AM | "I can understand what abyss is talking about .Far too many divas on another site"
I agree with that totally. I was actually on another discussion board site well a person who I know has clocked over 3500 posts within 18 months of its establishment and shock and horror he says he isn't there to be the biggest poster well in fact if you look at the Top 10 Posters he is number one.
However, there are some people who post and that is I have learned they either put up 85% is full of lies and the other 10% are the truth and the other 5% you have to work it out yourself whether its true or not.
Talking about this big poster he is fed by his so-called friends to post up something and he does and its incorrect but they want to see how gullable he is and and well he gets caught many times but ignores the wishes of the admin on that site.

| What do we think of POF compared to other well known Australia sites Posted: 3/20/2006 4:22:50 PM | P.O.F has been the best free site ive come accross ...Im so over paying sites ... I know how they opperate and how they con you to join...Ive joined some and learnt the hard way..Only thing now that worries me is that and if it hasnt started already is the common scammer opperating in sites like this coning people saying they are inlove with them. That happens alot in some of the sites i know of.. So im hoping that Admin of P.O.F has somewhere we can report a scammer and have them either checked out and or even removed from this site..Im only new here well not so new but ive seen my share of the common scammer...Congrats P.O.F great site you have produced for us Aussies.... P.S. If anyone would like just plain friendship or want contact from allover the world .. i would love to hear from you...Deffinately a clean chatter here... Cheers to all.... | |

| What do we think of POF compared to other well known Australia sites Posted: 4/15/2006 1:52:03 PM | | Only been to one other, RSVP, and yep, don't like that you have to pay! Not as user friendly as this site, and I'm really enjoying the interaction on the boards - Oz boards and US boards. It's all harmless fun, but it's great to be able to express your opinion without being ostracised. Thanks Admin at POF, you do a great job and thanks for the Oz board. It gives people O/S the chance to see just how diverse we are. | |

| What do we think of POF compared to other well known Australia sites Posted: 4/15/2006 3:39:54 PM | | I think match.com is the biggest rip off. Paying members send messages to those they think are interesting in which they include their personal email address so that person can respond. Unbeknown to them, match.com replaces their address with a worldtalk addy... unless the recipient is a paid up match.com member they are unable to reply. It can be so frustrating when you receive multiple messages and they ask why you haven't responded. Fortunately though I have found away the system and been able to include an email addy in my profile with out being discovered! lol You soon find out who reads your entire profile and who doesn't. | |

| What do we think of POF compared to other well known Australia sites Posted: 4/16/2006 5:06:28 AM | yup! match is a rip-off for sure!!! but if we hang around these sites long enough, and READ all the way to the bottom of the profiles, theres heaps of ways to throw in your address. but be prepared for the not so smart-smart people! think i'll move to victoria! VIVA LA POF!!!!!! | |
