take the guys age, lets say 25
take that age and devide it in half (round down)
that makes it 12 (need a calculator?)
then add 7, bringing us to 19

it's failsafe, the 7 is constant, no matter the age.

works out better for the older guys in their 40's and 50's

So...take 45 divide in half makes it 22.5. Lets use 22. Add 7 and we get 29.

So basically, I am supposed to be 29, instead of 21.

Cool.

Not me, mine's 19 years older than me. But according to the formula, he's only five years older.

I am not dating my daughters lol but they are under 28 so I guess that is against the rules. I remember when I thought everything was bad my neighbors and best friends would try and make me watch Jerry Springer so I would know my life wasn't so screwed up! lol

TRUE.... watch Jerry Springer and you realize you have a great life.lol Unless your on the Jerry Springer show. Then again you should always check for ID. But, i find when you date a younger lady, its just to re-live your own youth. What do you really have in common with someone 10yrs younger , same music? same hobbies? same viewpoints? Thats a generation gap right there, but sex is a big motivator.LOL Good luck fishing.....

Let me see if I understand this right. I'm 56 ... half of that is 28 ... I add 7 to that and come up with 35.

Are you saying that it's okay for me to date any man over the age of 35?
I've been out of high school 39 years! That would mean I'm dating a guy who wasn't even a sparkle in his parent's eye until I was almost out of college! If you don't consider that, then for sure you must agree that I'd be dating a young man who's young enough to be my son ... not sure if I could do that. O M G !!

I might consider 12 to 15 years younger ...

... even then, that classifies me as a "cougar" for sure ... right?

@ cotter then you need to move here. I can't seem to get away from them. I even took out my drivers liscense in order to show them my birthdate so they would leave me alone. They thought it was a fake ID. They may be young and cute but not too bright. I laughed so hard thinking what women in her right mind lies about being ten years older? Instead of saying that I had my hand over the pic and they asked why I was hiding it and I told them it was taken before all of the plastic surgery! lol

If one can find something in common with another; does it matter the age? Not if one is only going in it for the gratification.

@texas ...
... then you need to move here.
I think I'll pass and stay right where I am for now.

They may be young and cute but not too bright.
Yea ... that's my worry. My real problem is finding a man close to my age who still has the energy levels I have. Most cannot keep up with me physically and that includes sexually. When you first meet them, all they talk about is sex. But spend a couple of days with them (or a long weekend), and they're acting like they're ready for the retirement home!

I keep a walker and a quad cane at my house in case they need it to get to their car upon departure!

@ashley ...

By that I understand you to say that age really doesn't matter as long as both of you are satisfied you're on the right track and both are okay with it. Did I get that right? If so, that sounds good to me.

@Ashley I guess if I found a younger guy with the attitude of someone older he would be the perfect male. There is a thing as too young though I have daughters 19 and 20 and can't see dating anyone in thier 20s or even early thirties. The mid thirties that I have broke down and went out with are very possessive and try to get attached too quickly. I may be a realist but I don't believe you can love someone on first site, date or even a month of sex lol I think that you have to know them love thier flaws and all before I can use that word. I don't go into any relationship looking for gratification only, those never last and someone always gets hurt in the end.

@Cotter I know what you mean exactly about some men but that is really not age specific. Some younger ones and I am talking my age here are the same way.

I believe that the age gap is too wide if you feel uncomfortable with it. If you're worried about what others think, you obviously have a problem with it. Sometimes, it's not about chronological age but maturity.

^^^Yea what Texas and Felicitas said.

Of course you're right ... I think I heard someone once say that after you're of legal age, it's not about chronological age ... just maturity and what feels right for both of you. Thanks ladies ... for reminding me of that.

soo if I take 56 divide that in half .. which gives me 28 add 7 .... to end up with 35 ... is that what his age should be or mine ? ... cause if it's his then he should be younger than me .. oh wait if it's mine then I should be younger than me too .....
