I have to say this. I was born & raised in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. I have been living in California for 6 years. When I read forums from Canadians, I get so homesick! Kudos to Canadians: down to earth, intelligent, friendly, open, warm, sincere people. How I miss interacting with people like that! Don't get me wrong, there are great Americans out there, but on the whole, Canadians tend to be...Canadian. I enjoy being able to read all of your opinions! :)

Is natural to be homesick. You spent most of your life in Canada, didn't you? I hope California is treating you well. I love my home state!

....We are sorry to have lost you to our southern neighbors. You have missed one of our mildest winters here in almost 20 years, maybe more....until last week when we finally got some winter....a little cold and 10" of snow....and more to come...woohoo!

I am Canadian and am glad to be. I was born in Alberta. I can't see myself moving south myself but to the author of this thread if you are homesick then move back to Canada. Have a good day...

I miss it sometimes too.
wow is it ever pretty up there in the rural areas...
grass is so healthy and not dried up like where I live.
Such BEAUTIFUL scenic beauty... ocean, mountains, big pine trees
( nova scotia area and another area)
first time I ever saw the ocean was in Canada...

I wouldnt mind going back to visit someday

It's always nice to hear that a canadian who lives in the south is homesick for canada. This is a good thread with lots of good input. Thought I'd say Hi from B.C. Hope calli is treating you well.
I've always said the grass is greener on our side of the fence. Canada is great and im proud to live here. Maybe it's time for a little trip back to alberta? just to smell the open praries in the spring.......

THANK YOU!
Someone else that sees it too.

I was born and live in Toronto, Ontario (Canada for those southerners that don't know where that is...and believe me there are many! lol)

I've been down south here in Florida since the end of Dec/05 on somewhat of a vacation. I have a new house that was just bought here as I'm thinking of relocating (time for a change of pace/scenery).

However, I really do miss the Canadian friendliness/hospitality.
People speak of "southern hospitality" but where is it?
I don't see it!
I find Canadians (in general, of course there are always exceptions to these generalizations) to be much more intelligent, outgoing, warm, friendly and hospitable. I even met a girl that's visiting here from Toronto a few days ago and she was saying the same thing about people down here compared to us canuks.

to my Canadian brothers and sisters....lol
