Email policies on paid dating sites

Like Match.com, AmericanSingles.com, etc. I am a paid member of Match.com and I want to know if my emails are even readable to non-paid members of the opposite sex? Or do they just tell the girl "Wild_Stallion44 has sent you an email, which you can't read, BTW, until you upgrade to Premium membership." cuz that would piss me off. I doubt many of the women on there are paid members, so if that's the case then Match is a completely worthless ripoff and a total waste of my time.

yup, most paid sites suck :p
I've since removed my profile from any site like the ones you've listed above.
If I can't view a profile or read an email, gone. If I have to pay to send but can do everything else, i'll consider it if the price is reasonable.
So yeah, Match.com, americansingles, i'd dump em as soon as your membership expires

I know on Match.com, if you are not a member, you do get the email. You can even put your regular email address in the message so they have a way to contact you if they are not a member. At least that was the way it used to be.

Loftgirl, they probably can't put e-mail addresses in their messages. I've read that some sites filter out addresses.

Match.com I'm sorry. I should have been more specific.

They might filter them, but I'm not sure.

I might be able to afford the fees for some of these sites if they weren't so danged expensive. *sighs*

I've been trying to figure out ways to put plentyoffish in my profile without it being filtered out. *lol* That way They can contact me and I can actually reply! :o)

I just had someone email me on AmericanSingles (I never upgraded to a paid account there) and I am not allowed to see the email without PAYING the $24.95! So, I've included a coded version of my email address (which passed their filter system, heheheh) in the introduction line of my profile over there, hopefully the women I've "Teased" will be clever enough to decode it

Match.com has a very clever filter.

In your first message to someone, if you put anything that looks like an e-mail address, or even words likee "yahoo" or "hotmail", it's filtered and changed your talkmatch.com address. You can send a real e-mail only after the person on the other end replies to your mail through talkmatch.com.

The only way around the filters is by using heavy munging - something like "namehere #t h0t mai| per1od c0m"
