| Moscow advice Posted: 3/29/2006 9:26:42 AM | | I work over there, and some really good advice is this, carry anything you want to keep in tight pockets, the pick pockets are very smart, what we do is carry only a small amount of rubles 10,000 or so and we split it up in to pockets, backpacks can easily be cleaned out when you are walking, they also look for the cool eletronic gadgets, so if you are only going to russia leave the expensive things at home,or hidin on you, the people well most of them are great people, but stay sharp, online you can get a translation progam for a palm pilot, or computor that does speak so you can learn a few words, and when you land there be ready for the long ques of people, it is best to be travelling with a group or at least another person, you will have the time of your life, if you are not set on moscow, try St Petersburg-beautiful place, and alot to see, if you have any other questions just ask, have a safe trip | |

| Moscow advice Posted: 4/12/2006 8:54:00 PM | It's been a couple of years ago and I was there in winter time (the Red Square looked like a 'fary tale' at night). I enjoyed the cathedrals, flee markets, museum, theaters, art schools and vodka! (to keep you warm...)
Mostly enjoyed the Golden Ring...it is one of the oldest Russian routes. It goes to the north-east of Moscow and forms a circle. There are many interesting ancient Russian cities and towns along the way, full of history and unique Russian architecture.
Enjoy your trip! | |
