| The Worst Car Drivers You Have Encountered?
Posted: 3/11/2006 3:04:55 AM | As many ex FSO members know I got my P's last November and well since then I have clocked up quite a lot of driving well around 5,000 kilometres and well in that time I have seen some interesting drivers but my pet hate so far are these:
Tailgaters- I have had them from mainly with expensive sports cars or luxury cars like Mercedes drivers. So if I slow down to the limit they toot their horn and flash the lights to go faster- amazing one of them actually called out and said "Go Faster you "Dickh*ead" and Karma got him because the Police pulled him over after the next set of traffic lights.
These luxury car drivers in Adelaide think that if I slow and they smack into me then they get a new car but I wonder what they will say when I tell the Police or even their insurance company that they were tailgating?
My other pet hate is people on a 100kph stretch of road go at either 60kph, 70kph or 80kph and when you overtake them they look at you because they think you are a hoon.
The last but not least pet hate is cars who suddenly decide to change lanes in front of me without using their indicators but that doesn't happen much but one of the worst ones I encounter is cars when I am going at 60kph decide its great to pull out from a street and I have to toot the horn to them to get back. They think they have the right of way. | |

Posted: 3/11/2006 4:25:57 PM | I know what you mean about those tailgaters. I've had my p's for nearly 2 years and I am so sick of those idiots. Some seem to think because you are a P plater that they can try and bully you.
I usually just slow down a bit if they tail gate for to long.
When I have been pulled over for a breath test I do love the look on the police-persons face. They see the P plates and it is like oh here we have a young p plater and then when I wind my window down and they see I am not young. The look is priceless and it really makes my day. Then I get a " Blow in the bag please. Thank You and have a nice day"  | |

Posted: 3/11/2006 4:42:44 PM | | Well when I was coming back with my friends and my gran for the new trams in Adelaide Crush load test I had a police car follow us for up to 3kms (and tailgating as well) when to see if I was going over the limit or preforming something bad but amazingly they didn't pull me over but one thing is for sure if the police say they never target P-platers I think that is well wrong because I have the experience of being followed by the police. | |

seriously though she is!!
If I left my 4 yr old with her for a weekend i'd have to take my mum's car keys off her.
I hate getting in a car with her.
Not just how bad the driving actualy is, but shes had numersou accidents.. and by her not her fault.. but her history.. she shouldn't be on the road!! | |

If you ever want to experience real fear
Go to Western China and spend a night on the freeway there
Then you can appreciate our drivers here

Posted: 3/13/2006 11:03:52 PM | I've only been here for 3 weeks transplanted from Canada and although I made a mistake it was all forgotten.........I drove on the wrong side of the road while looking for an address and came upon a car in my lane stopped. When I stopped I realized I had driven in the wrong lane and the other guy givin me the eyeball was a cop! LOL
I smile and waved and got back on the other side of the road and we went our seperate ways.
I ride a bike too and have been fairly impressed by the amount of signalling and overall good driving habits but, I have been all over North America and you guys are overall pretty respectful drivers, hats off to ya!
Detroit, Montreal, Los Angeles and Toronto, Vancouver and Winnipeg top my list for

lucky for me though wasn't his driving i had to deal with everyday. his siter was around the corner so walking distance was great. Tell him to go home leave the car their and walk around so we can drink. walk home in the snow..how lurvely!! | |

So we spent a few days together In Brisbane, then he returned again to brisbane and I met up with him there. so went to Canada to spend 6 weeks with him. Loved it!! that would of been 1999. We are the best of friends, he's now in honolulu! what a weather change pmsl!! wonder how his driving is going there? shall I be game and ask? rofl | |

I too hate tailgaters and the thing to know, is that whoever hits you from behind will 98% of the time be in the wrong, so slow down for the **stards and make it painful for them. I am a truck driver and the other pet hate I have - and it seems to be mainly young females in small cars - is people cutting in front of trucks. Especially coming up to a red light. When are people going to realise that trucks DO NOT handle like a car, the load on the back may be extremely heavy and the driver allocates for the stopping distance. Imagine having a trailer on the back of your car and it is full of wet sand. Actually, dont imagine it, do it and see how quickly you can brake when some numbnut cuts in front and brakes! Sphincter says 50cents 5cents, 50cents 5cents lol. I will be the first to admit though that there are some truck drivers out there who are equally guilty of tailgating, I have had them too. I understand the semis have a time frame to go by and they have more often than not driven long distances, but not everyone wants to cop a speeding fine through bully tactics. Unless they have an emergency light and a siren, the twit can wait!!! Catcha! | |

Posted: 5/7/2008 1:23:04 AM | My dad and I once drove behind an old asian lady wearing a hat, driving a volvo.
I know every part of that is a totally untrue stereotype, but when so many stereotypes combine... it has POWER. She was undoubtedly the worst driver I've ever seen.
The only possible exception I've seen was across the road from us in a unit my wife and I used to live in.
I never know how to phrase that... my ex-wife? but that suggests we were exes then. My wife and I suggests we're still together. I think "then-wife" is about the best I can do.
Anyway, I was talking to my then-wife on the phone and there was a noise. She asked if I heard it, and I said yes, and she said it was the woman from across the road banging into our garage door with her car.
We figured logically they'd pop over and say sorry, and we ignored it (no real damage).
Then a few weeks later, I was at the computer and clang. She did it again. I watched her do it, then drive into her garage. I waited a bit figuring (foolishly) that someone would come over, but they didn't.
So I went over. And they had no idea what I was talking about. I showed them the giant ding. I told them that I'd watched their car reverse into our driveway, smash into our garage door, then drive into their garage. I showed them flecks of paint from our door embedded into the back of their car! Eventually I convinced them that they had, in fact, hit our house.
She was the worst driver. Her car (a Hyundai Excel, I believe) had grey flecks all along the corners of it, gouges. And along the inside corners of the garage there were Hyundai coloured streaks all over it. I watched her once reversing out, just straightening the car. And I thought "watch your mirrors... watch your mirrors.. JESUS LADY LOOK AT YOUR GODDAMNED MIRROR!" but it was too late. Her mirror got torn off by a pole.
The moral of the story? People like that are parking next to you when you go grocery shopping. | |

Posted: 5/7/2008 11:29:50 PM | My then-husband and friend borrowed a tilt tray truck off a mate to collect some turf just west of Brissy for your new yard. They ended up with a flat tyre and these two reasonably intelligent men forgot to tighten the wheelnuts on one of the wheels. Took off and promptly sheared the nuts! Another time, the same reasonably intelligent friend had a cement mixer or lawn mower in his trailer, not tied down! Lucky his insurance paid out on that one.
I was a driving instructor many years ago and there was only one person who was so bad that she couldn't get her licence in the the local area where the police use to do the testing and most everyone got their licence. She tried about 3 times and finally got it after I had finished. I ran into her a year or so later... of course about 3 accidents. Really, some people should not be driving.

Posted: 5/8/2008 4:36:15 AM | Hey I believe I am a very good driver even my mother in-law used to say .... I am the best zigzagger, but won't guarantee you won't bring up you meal while I am driving or after And can get into the tightest spots when parking.....
Now the worst drivers I have experienced on the road.... without prejudice or stereotyping...............Asian and Indians and if they are female then it's even worse...my 70 odd year old aunty (RIP) who was not such a fast driver....used to complain about the same group of drivers ....not sure why??...maybe they are over cautious haven't figure that one yet...........but apparently it's a worldwide opinion.
Apparently an American Automobile company used Asian family in their commercial to prove their car was very safe.... | |

The Worst Car Drivers You Have Encountered? .....!. The man that didn't see my white car with flashing indicator as he came around the roundabout and hit me in the ar*e when I was about to turn into a street.
2. The woman who 'gave way' on a priority road to a man who was at a stop sign which caused me to crash into him (twas a duel highway).
MOST 4 wheel drive drivers. There they sit in their stupidly oversized ego boosting trucks oblivious to small cars. They dont care that a small car cannot see past them to turn left when they are turning right and what's with taking so many risks and endangering other drivers???.....Because they can?
Drivers in shopping centres who dont know what a review mirror is used for.
