| Do you remember the days of the old schoolyard dating? Posted: 3/11/2006 11:03:10 PM | Just an adaption of Cat Steven's song.
Anyway do you remember when you were young and you dated in the schoolyard? What was your earliest memories?
I think my earliest memories would be in Year 2 and Year 3 I always wanted to "go round" with a girl with pony tails or "piggy tails" they called them in the 1980s and well I always wanted her to be my girlfriend.
Then in later on in primary school in year 5 to year 7 we had socials (ie. disco's) and well the last social we had to take along a partner and I plotted a scheme that I would make one of the girls jelous of me for taking a girl Racqueal along. It didn't work initially but one week down the track the girl came over to me and said "you made me upset and angry that you couldn't take me" I learned then and there that girls don't forget things quickly.
In high school I was more like interested in finding a girlfriend through youth group rather than at high school. There was only one girl I wanted to date at school but she left sadly within a couple of weeks. Others used me to get there assignments done because I was classified as a "geek" in high school (which I only found out December last year) anyway if they couldn't do computing work then they asked me of course I did it to suck up to them that didn't work.
In Year 12 formal I and three other guys boycotted it because we had to take a partner along and well we couldn't find anyone outside or inside of school and well us three guys met each other 10 years after the formal and said something like "what a bunch of idiots we were".
However, this aside my memories of girls in primary school that they were sweet, sometimes intelligent, and also some of them were ugly (thats the word we used). Then in high school they were good, attractive (I even tried dating a girl 2 years older than me and well she thought I am not dating a year 8) and well what can I say when I was in Year 10 to Year 12 we thought the Year 8's girls were very much developed yet we were too scared to date them.
Thats my story now over you. | |

Year 6 the boys telling me I was a great friend.
A quick kiss on the cheek.
Being whacked on the head with the lid of a desk.
Then high school and it all went down hill
