recently had plans canceled on me because she had a very important raid she had to help her guild with, i could come watch if i wanted but it may take a couple hours or more. i stayed home.

people can do what they want with their time but i would have been less turned off if she had told me she had a major case of hemroids she had to deal with.

im probably going to tell her to raid her own panties next time she calls, girls who play vids are becoming a major turn off for me. what are other peoples opinions about partners who video game, esp those online multiplayer games? should i be more understanding of her relationship with her online game friends?

Not sure of her age, I see you're 24. Maybe you should look for women who are a little older/closer to your age (assuming she's a fair bit younger?) - women who've got more constructive things to do with their time/life than live in la-la land and play video games?

I don't mind gamers. There are times I have a hard time putting down the Game Cube controller and getting out - especially when the weather turns nasty. I don't game online - unless you count this site lol. I wouldn't mind if my partner was a gamer as long as he's aware that he's probably playing against a bunch of 14 yr olds. Sounds to me like someones a little jealous.

I use to play the online games my self. I know that they can get very addicting especially when you are in a RPG type with guilds and raiding.

I have met a lot of people/friends but if I had plans I would just tell the guild or the raid party that I am sorry but I have other plans. The game will still be there later that night or tomorrow. To me having fun with people close to you is always better.

If you want to be mean do the same to her some time. Tell her you are going out with the guys or something that she isn't too interested with. What come around goes around.

Guess it depends how you feel. If you don`t mind playing second fiddle to a vid game, then it`s all good. If it bothers you (looks like it does), then move on!

Hmm chicks that play video games are hot, where can I find me one?

Except the ones that play mrpg's online, and all they do it that heh.

Dungeon and Dragons nerds.

I can't believe people actually got married playing online heh.

I think the idea is not to play second fiddle to the games..
make sure when theres time for space to then take advantage..as long as it doesnt take away time from your partner...could even be a shared event...i dont play many games myself..
i use to ..i get so bored of it quickly..but sitting down once in awhile with a partner to play would be fun...
many other games i wouldnt mind..and some well lol i dont like my partner playing me like a game...
to alot women/men pof is a game lol

You should equate it to any consuming hobby you have and then see if it would still annoy you to have plans broken for it.

Sometimes I break plans to finish painting or what have you.

I have enough friends who "game" so that it doesn't bug me if they don't come out with us when we're going to the clubs or whatever. We're kind of used to it. If thats what someone wants to do...

It happens. I know a couple from Australia that got married. The meet in the game and next thing you know they were fighting over the computer.

Oh those pc games are really bad, they really take over your life.

I won't lie this is one of my passions, but I'll trade it any day for a girlfriend.

Just a hobby for me, just like watching a movie, it's playing a movie.

But some people over do it, especially those huge online games.

Wow...this is a shocker, the shoe is now on the other foot...a man that doesnt play video games and is annoyed at a girl that plays them all the time? Wow. This is shocking.

Most women cant stand guys that play video games. Says it corrupts our brains....

Corrupt the brains??? I don't think so. I like to play puzzle games on the computer such as Collapse! and Text Twist to name a couple. Games can make the mind think and are interactive. To me playing games is preferable to passively sitting in front of the boob tube.

If a man liked to play an occasional game I would consider this a pastime he enjoys just like any other hobby, unless he is woefully addicted.

The old arcade classic games are still a pleasure to play on occasion. I have happy memories of my teen years playing these games with my friends both at the mall and at the beach. There was the social aspect of being with my friends as well as enjoying a game or two.

I suppose you can call me a gamin' gal :-). Although I never got into the online RPGs or video game leagues, I do enjoy playing an occasional video game. It's fun and can challenge the mind.

i bet she plays WoW, man that game is addicting. i probably log 40+ hours a week. think of it this way you can join her and have somthing in common or you can leave her and im sure she wont mind you already come second to her if shes blowing you off to go on a raid. its not like she is gonna cheat on you with one of her fellow gamers. but honestly give the game a try and i garurnte that you will be addictied in no time. plus cheap dates

I occassionally play video games but mostly old ones because I haven't been able to take the time or have the cash to get into new ones but I love watching other people play some of the newer video games. I start getting into it if I can see the screen. I don't watch my parents play video games because I would have to sit behind the computer desk with them, but I love to watch people play games on TV. It's like watching a movie you have some control over and although I have never been part of any computer game playing groups I can't blame people who are. It's more fun if other people are involved.
