Posted: 3/18/2006 5:49:08 PM | Anyone using the forums who has joke pics monkeys etc will have their image uploading disabled if they don't get rid of those pics.
This is a dating site not a circus.
Cartoons, animals, celebrity and Joke pictures etc., are not allowed.
NO NUDITY
ALL pictures MUST contain you in it with a visible head shot at minimum

there is also the issue of people who do not have any picture because they want to remain anonymmous. are they gonna be forced to put one in their profile?
does the restriction apply to the main picture only or to any picture on the profile?

Also: Barbies, artwork, web pics: toothless old people web pics, ugly people web pics, developmentally challenged people web pics, monkeys with lipstick, cat snipers, celebrities, etc. you get the picture.
This is a dating site, the profile pic has a purpose, the purpose should be obvious.
we could show other pictures to show our interests ( like gardening for me).
The pic should have some direct relationship to you, and you must be the sole unique owner of it, as intellectual property (and this must be obvious).
Use it (properly) or lose it.

I'm sorry you feel that way Admin... I very much enjoyed seeing people express themselves through art and even in some cases, humor. It will be sorely missed. I would even go as far as making a suggestion to have some area of the profile to allow for this | |

It's gotten out of hand, this thread is "fair warning" for those who keep asking:
Why can't I upload pics?
Why was my profile deleted?

IMO, could go either way, ....a gamble I s'pose.
If okay means "I won't lose the pic privilege"?
I will err on the side of caution and say, no ....I can't tell you "okay"
If you have no pic = okay
If you have a pic inclusive of you, (and not easily mistaken for being a web pic) = okay

They can read their TOS.
Nothings changed here.
It's likely that it may just be a pic deletion for "first time, but, .....it's in the user agreement.
There's a million profiles, there's a TOS, .....there are no resources to notify people about 8,000,000 potential pics.
If they are on the forums, they are going to be seen by more administrative eyes, this means that the pics will be deleted, and the upload button feature will be gone. | |

I believe, the person that put in that complaint is soulmate 869. I first seen her on another web site match com I recently wrote her and apologized for sending her e-mails with wrong in tent as for asking her out. When all I only wanted someone to go to dinner with when I play in tournaments on the coast he I did comment on the amount of single women that wanted to date younger guys on this web site and others. I believe that made her mad the picture I have sent her was love myself and a horse that I compete with and make jokes, which she wrote me back saying that it was very funny. Thanks for the joke. I believe the last e-mail made her very mad. Even though I don't wish to correspond with her other women. I have make contact with on this site, which I have apologized to and told them. I only wish for a dinner some conversation. As in and of date. I've had a lot of good response from women who are into horses, and I would like to keep that picture, if I could, if you wish me to remove it. Please notify me you have a good web site, and I have found being a businessman that I can access money, which I have found on the site at a good rate and easy turns. Then why is the picture of the gentleman's hands posted above considered "a gamble"??

I'm sure pictures of a chair & your electronic equipment, your eye, anything a Mod has shown on a profile should definately be ok. I would definately suggest ammending your TOS to include this information regarding humorous pics however. This is definately not represented in your FAQs either. Otherwise, you may have alot of work browsing new user profiles | |

You can upload up to 8 images, you may keep these images hidden from other members by selecting not to display them on your profile.
Make sure the image isn't too big or it won't upload.
Cartoons and celebrity pictures are not allowed.
Make sure the image is in JPG, BMP or GIF format.
You can share these private pictures with other members when sending them a message
what part of that is not easy to understand...see the cartoons comment..it's right there. No harm no fould..but I think admin would like to have folks actually read that before they upload. | |

I have a lot of pictures of flowers I grow. But there is no way I can prove that I grow them besides inviting you to visit me this summer to check for yourself.
so does it mean I cannot post pictures of my flowers because it is not obvious they are mine?
I really would appreciate a clarification on this.

That one isn't reinforced. There is a user whom I have reported more than once for having a close up pic of an erection. I believe he may have had the pic deleted, but he wasnt.
Not what this thread is about, but, you can see the problem there is and the backload in enforcing these rules. The idea of this post is to warn those who would otherwise not want to lose their profile pic privilege.

I thing everyone is just attempting to clairify this new rule. No one want's to be deleted for violating a term one doesn't yet understand. | |

Well, the only TOS reference is for copyrights.
There are a million + users, one Admin.
If it looks like copyright material, it gets deleted, otherwise it "looks" like it's okay for others to put up a monkey with lipstick/barbie/cat sniper pic.

My pics are mine, and obviously so, everything in them is in other pics of me, hidden or otherwise, with me.

The eye pic is in the common account for all the mods, chosen by the site owner....it's obviously an administrative profile.
The "tu quoque ad hominum" fallacy argument, doesn't change the warning one iota.
Otherwise, you may have alot of work browsing new user profiles

I have to get rid of a few pics now. The car is mine; exclusively, and the animal pics I shoot are usually exclusive pics.
No way to check that
