| Mods, Rockers or Punks... Posted: 3/21/2006 2:51:19 PM | I seem to have just missed these sub-cultures.... but i do remember swaying towards the mods, i loved the customised bikes, the dress & the music most of all...
Whats YOUR preference... which one were you?...Which one would have you been? Why?

| Mods, Rockers or Punks... Posted: 3/21/2006 4:01:15 PM | | Big, your memory must have been affected by the pills, but the Mods didn't modify bikes - they rode scooters called hairdryers. The rockers, who I identify with, rode bikes, had better clothes, music and attitudes. | |

| Mods, Rockers or Punks... Posted: 3/22/2006 1:12:09 AM | Yech! Willow, thats sad he is a def for mr Colgate, mind his sister was well worth a look in! Rather have Suzy Quatro!!! I glanced at the edge of being a rocker I still have the hair and a picture somewhere of me on my Bike only trouble is I had a big tash and looked like one of those plonkers on the 118 ad. I have a mate who is 60, he goes around in leatheres, spikes, badges, beard and long hair, if you follow him you would exspect him to go to his Mighty Machine parked all gleaming at the road side ready to eat the miles of tarmac of freedom, nop!! he gets on the number 8 bus! Mind I'm not much better, the nearest I get to two wheels is pushing past me pushbike in the hall!! | |

| Mods, Rockers or Punks... Posted: 3/22/2006 4:43:25 AM | | I've always been a rocker .. have one or two mod friends but rocker/biker/hippy is essentially my culture ... and has been since I was 14 or so ... | |
|
| Mods, Rockers or Punks... Posted: 3/22/2006 5:10:30 AM | | Has to be the mods anyway, fashion, cool mopeds bank holidays at the seaside etc, rockers were just scruffs with bad shoes and punks used to spit at each other how bad is that? | |

| Mods, Rockers or Punks... Posted: 3/23/2006 5:37:09 AM | When it comes to dress i think the punks had the most imagination, the mods had the most style & the rockers wore black leather...mmm.

Real kick ass music after the dross of glam and AOR.
The mid to late 70s was a great time to be growing up, I loved it.
Still listen to the Pistols and the Clash and never get bored of it!

| Mods, Rockers or Punks... Posted: 3/23/2006 3:54:35 PM | The Clash? That wasnt that long ago. Dam, have I gotton that old? I had Harleys before the punk rock era. In Canada the bikers who rode Triumph, Norton, Harleys were the Party crowd. Also the violent partiers. The Jap bikes and BMW were the rest of the guys that were more responsible. And very boring if you ask me. | |

Posted: 4/2/2006 8:14:42 AM | back @ ya kid wicked ..glad you didn't say AC/DC..At unsure whether Arthur or Martha?...(Bi-Sexual as name sugeests) & especially what scottish bluebell says about Mods...Though Blondie was known as a punk band..can't see it myself !?, especially since parents where singinging it around us kids...must mean only one thing it wasn't punk as i know it..not enough agression...
Apparently the only punk band(the most mainstream heard of bands this is) that existed for me where the Pistols with anti-establishment messages..that was punk..bringing down conformists.

| Mods, Rockers or Punks... Posted: 2/28/2007 3:49:47 PM | | I remember wearing a Harrington Jacket and pipe jeans as a child. Someone stole my jacket at Silver blades ice rink in Brum and that was the end of that. Then at 15 I joined venture scouts and the leader was also a DJ, but only played what he liked which was rock, so I was transformed lol. So I guess rock chick! | |
