Posted: 3/21/2006 8:17:43 PM | I liked some of the nuns when I was in school, especially one I remember in a Catholic camp i attended in Northern Sask. I dont think it was a crush, as per say, but she was definitely really cool for a nun. I do remember this priest in my home town who ended up renouncing his vows to marry one of his parisheners. He even went up in front of his congregation to announce it. I thought that was most gutsy of him. I cant imagine how the relationship started though." Gee Father, greta mass today. Oh and by the way, I love you", lol.
Must have been a tough confession for him too. " sorry God, I have to take back my promise to you".

Posted: 3/21/2006 8:38:07 PM | | ^........when a priest does something like this, he is basically betraying his sworn vowes....it makes you wonder where his mind was at, (and who he was checking out) up until that moment.......i'm not just busting on priests here, this also happens amongst protestant pastors and deacons (although its not unlawful here, it is unethical)........there is nothing that the church can do if a priest decides to leave for this reason.....but let me give you an analogy........imagine a doctor having a 'thing' with his patient, or a teacher with his underage pupil? | |

Posted: 3/21/2006 8:45:48 PM | It's funny, my sister and I were talking about this just the other day.
As a kid (as in 8 or so), she had the BIGGEST crush on Father Paul, our parish priest. The man was *at least* 80, hunched over, and his idea of the homily was screaming at the congregation over having the audacity to wear JEANS to church.
The man also made a girl in my class cry during our second confession (grade 3, so roughly 8 years old), telling her she was going to "burn in hell forever" for not obeying her parents. He then explained to her what "forever" meant. Poor kid. I'll never forget watching sweet little Vanessa come tearing out of the confessional, tears streaming down her cheeks while I knelt to pray my penance.
But the man loved my sweet little golden-haired sister for some reason (no, nothing pervy). And somehow, my nutcase sister was convinced that she and Father Paul would marry. She always did have interesting taste!  | |

I disagree. It doesnt necessarily mean the priest or none is an opportunist. $hit happens. People make mistakes. Their intentions could very well have been sincere when they took their vows but people can change and they could also have found someone who was mutually attracted to them. Whats wrong with Doctors dating their patients as long as it again is a chemistry thing. Now if the Doctor ended up always dating patients that would raise suspicion. | |

When I was 13-14, my best friend at the time, belonged to a church...I forget which one, but....there was a minister *embarassed* Anyways, she convinced me to join her youth group, and I swear, that was the best decision I have ever made ( well, one of them) I had a blast with those people, made great friends while I was there. We went on trips, to big youth group gatherings, and went camping, I had a blast. Anyways, her family went to church every sunday, and when I was staying at her place, I went as well. ( we had to dress up, it was annoying actually. :P) and I was in LOVE with the minister. He was amazing, in his 30's, I suppose, and was super hot. He looked like Vin Disel.(sp?) Mmmm... he came on our trips, and camping once, and was always around, His family, and my best friends family, were friends, so they would invite them over for dinner sometimes, and I made sure I was there as well :D :D
Meh. Young schoolgirl crushes. But gawd, I had it bad for that man.

Posted: 2/1/2007 6:17:14 PM | i snuck into a catholic high school prom when i was 17 to be with my friends and their dates. i went to another school but i enjoyed getting dressed up and going out dancing so when my friends asked me to come i said ok.
a young nun came up to me and asked me who i was and who was my date. luckily i was able to remember one of the girls names who wasn't there and told the young nun she had stood me up. i danced the remainder of the night with this nun in her late 20's (she was cute). i even had a slow dance that i remember to this day. *sigh* the unattainable. | |

One of my friends - he was really close to her family and use to

or her sister - After the whole sex scandal came out she was like- "I guess me
and my sister were not his type" !!!!LOL!!!!
