| AZ to AK Posted: 3/22/2006 3:09:37 AM | It looks like I may be moving to Alaska some time this year or early next year. I'd be living in Anchorage.
I have two furry buddies who'll be coming with me so finding a place to live that accepts pets is my top priority right now.
Does anyone have any advice on where to look for rental homes or townhomes that allow pets? Its hard being so far away to get a good idea of what's what.
Also, any tips for living in Alaska would be much appreciated.

If you want to do things up here the best thing to do is to get ahold of a local once your here and they can tell you where to go and when. One thing I highly suggest though is don't go out on the flats at Turnagan Arm when the tide is out as you can get stuck in that mud and can eventually drown as some have found out. Alaska is very rugged and very unforgiving. what may look innocent can be deadly. We also have Bears so be real noisy when hiking around up here and try not to carry any food with you. It's a beautiful state indeed but one must respect her as she can turn on you in a New York Minute. If you want, e-mail me and I will give you my phone number so when you come up you will already have a friend here! Debbie | |
