my g/f or ex g/f wrote me a email this week.. saying her feeeling for me have been decling recently and that i might not be th e person she wants to spend the rest of he r life with.. then she says she needs space to clear some stuff up in her head!! and if i cant handle it. then i should leave
now didnt she break up with me in the email? by saying all that she did or does she just really want space? | |

Ie: Starting school and now she has a lot of homework, etc. But I suspect this is just a prelude to her fully breaking up. In my opinion - she didn't really want to break up with you because she didn't say it ... but by her suggesting that if you "can't handle it" she's maybe hoping you'll say you can't, and move on. In her mind then, it's not HER that ended it, but rather you for the decision to leave because you couldn't handle it. She pretty much left it open for you to bail.
Does that make sense??

When she Say's she needs space she means: I need space, I am feeling crowded, claustrophobic, enmeshed and not independent or as free as I want to be.
That her feelings are on the decline - means you are like a once bought special outfit that has
gone out of style - is now old and you no longer want to have it in your closet much less wear it - in fact you are starting to get irritated each time you open the closet and see it.
It was once a special outfit so it is hard just to say begone ye lousy outdated garb -
if you are clever and strong in ways most of us are not - you will proudly move yourself off to a dark quiet unseen place, ironing yourself and keeping your colors fresh -
Fashions come around again and one day in the not so distant future (if you keep your weave intact) you will again be all the rage -
But hopefully you will have grown and be snugly embraced by someone more suited to the cut of your thread - | |

And if you end up back with her the relationship will be damaged and scared. This has happened to me and when she wanted me back it just wasn't the same I could not trust her, always wondered when she would want her space again. If someone loves you they want to be with you all the time. Sorry dude. | |

A. You're too clingy/needy or
B. She's getting ready to break up with you or
C. A and B
The best thing you can do in this situation is PULL BACK IMMEDIATELY. No calls, no emails, no text, no drunk dialing, no stalking - NOTHING.
Pull back, get your bearings straight and let HER contact you. Give her some time, distance and space. Do be ready for the most likely scenario which is her breaking up with you. Women take much longer to decide to leave men but once they do their minds are pretty much made up.
Any attempts you make right now to cling to her will be met with utter futility and only lead to push her further away from you.
You might want to read my guide on second chances. At lot of what I have written on there explains the best way to recover from a relationship and quite possibly set up a second chance or reconcilliation.
Again, the first thing you need to do is back away from her. Back far, far away. When someone wants their space the best thing you can do is give it to them. | |
