| Dating--Clothing and Shoes: What are Jimmy Choo shoes? Is the clothing that your new date wears... Posted: 3/27/2006 10:05:30 AM | During the first few dates, Are you making a statement to him or her? Do you dress to impress others ? Do you dress to catch a man ? Do you dress to feel comfortable for you ? Do you buy clothes you can really afford and not run up the credit card ? Are shoes on you a big issue ? Are clothing and shoes that he or she wears a big factor to what you think about your date ? Why ? and Why not ? Does the way you both dress stop being a beig issue after you both are comfortable with each other ?

Posted: 3/27/2006 10:10:33 AM | yeah i don't really think about what I wear on dates, usually i'm just in jeans and a wife beater. if we're going somewhere nice I'll swap my trainers for a pretty pair of sparkly pumps or something. But thinking about it I do expect my date to be dressed nice, if they aren't then I'm instantly turned off. shoes are a big issue for me. I buy a lot of shoes but not really for dates. My dates shoes are SO important, i don't want to be dating a grubby pair of trainers! please. and no. clothes never stop being an issue. who wants to be sitting next to mr pink loafers with a stained football shirt? not me.

It's a nice weekend type of wardrobe, and a woman that looks good in jeans seldom disappoints when dressing slightly more formally.
I just want to get to know the person, and not having the pressure of trying to "dress to kill " is a part of that. I'm not that concerned about a woman's wardrobe, and more oriented towards her "style".

Posted: 3/28/2006 7:35:35 AM | Often I go on dates from work so I am dressed more "prissy" than normal, but I always try to pick something a little more sexy than usual. If it is a casual date I wear jeans but with a striking off the shoulder or halter top, and always boots! What I try to project with my clothing choices are my flamboyance and easy going personality, and that there is nothing normal or "corporate" about me, lol.
I buy way too many clothes, but I am not fanatical about name brands. If I like something and can afford it I get it, whether it is from the consignment shop, T.J. Maxx or a boutique. I love to watch what other women wear and get lots of great ideas from the students here.
I do like a man who dresses well, but it needs to be his own personal style. I don't expect a man take on my preferences, just accent his own good qualities, like a man who knows the right shirt to accent his eyes, etc. I love soft textures on men, like brushed cotton or suede. Can't keep my hands off!

Black pants, a nice top, a sweater/cardigan/suit jacket and boots. I like black from head to toe, actually, because it's classy and sleek and lets me go to town on make-up and accessories. I've never really liked colors or prints, but if I wear all black, I'll wear a funky purse, scarf, and earrings. And cool eyeshadow - like myosotis blue and deep purple, with glossy nude lips. But my signature look would be a black pantsuit, black boots with 2-inch stacked heels, black structured purse with some hardware, thick lashes, pearly nude eyeshadow, a pretty flush, and matte red lips. Oh, and it's okay to let a pretty lacy camisole peak from the suit jacket.
Frankly, I prefer men who are comfortable wearing suits. I totally melt when I see someone who looks perfectly natural in a well-tailored, well-fitting suit.
PS: Carrie, Jimmy Choo needs to start making non-stiletto shoes. Since I hurt my ankle, I can't wear skinny heels anymore

Yes, as a child and being the firstborn, mama always dressed me up. And then my mom's baby sister who is a seamstress would whip me and my two sisters and my mom the latest styles as we grew up. She only had two boys. Then when I starting working part-time and attending high school full time I also shopped for new clothing at the Cerritos, CA mall, had to buy matching shoes and boots and tons of make up too. Then I stopped shopping for me when I had my two kids, which I mainly raised alone. Now, they are married, so I love to buy casual clothing for me. I donate and give away my clothing after a few times. God blesses those that give to others. Hair coloring and pedicures are a must. What can I say, I love being a gal...
