| Have you ever been in Siena? Posted: 4/1/2006 6:31:50 PM | I thought it was great, too.
I was taught that Siena is the only place in Italy where the everyday, spoken Italian is the same as the official, academic Italian; even in Florence, their "C's" are pronounced a little incorrectly in everyday speech. Unfortunately, I was only there for the afternoon, and didn't have the oportunity to speak with any of the locals. (and I wouldn't have known the difference at the time, anyway)
I would have loved to see their duomo completed, but at least it makes for an interesting piazza.

I wish I could have spent more time there, but money was tight at the time (I was a scholarship student). I am madly in love with Italy. It is my dream to live there full-time one day.

I've been twice, once in winter and once in summer. When I was there in winter, there was snow, which added to the town's beauty. There were still a lot of tourists, but mostly European, as it as school break.

It's a lovely town and a lovely region of Italy, Tuscany. It's a nice place to visit. Probably be a nice place to live. Not a huge town (60,000) but in a good location for seeing Italy. Gets an awful lot of tourists, though, especially in summer.
