I dont know, maybe they are just afraid, or for some insane reason think that no showing up for a meeting is a much nicer way of saying I am not really interested in persuing this relationship. I dont know. But the liar part... that is more specific to indivisual than gender though. | |

Well, it doesn't matter. When someone has your cell phone number, and you are sitting in a parking lot waiting to meet, and they don't call, it is the classic version of being stood up. Things do happen, and even the next day not phoning or sending a message is bad manners. Aren't people supposed to be on their best behaviour, when they first meet? A no show on the first date, and few weeks later asking for a second date is not a good indicator of what it would be like to date that person. I value my time and I put a lot of energy into the prospect of meeting someone. I think I am worth more than a thoughtless act like a no show. If I wanted to be taken for granted, then I would have remained married. [ouch] | |

I, on the other hand, dont lie
This does not however mean more men lie than women

I can honestly say I have never BEEN stood up either....so guess I've just been lucky! I HAVE met some wonderful people on here...each and every one I've met...and am happily dangling on the line of one of em!! | |

I find more women lie about being single a lot of men will admit to having a g/f cause they think girls will go for that.. women lie more about their weight, age, interests... women will pretend to be interested in some things to get guys attention, or they will pretend to like something just so they get invited to tag along.. Women talk about women behind their backs a lot more than men.. why do you think more women get bashed on here than men.. or why more women dye their hair OK thats the end of my post Ive lost track of where I was going with it.. lol I hope ppl got my point | |

I respectfully disagee with most of that
1/ I think more men lie about being married than women do.
2/ I think perhaps more women lie about their weight, however I think more men lie about their height. That evens out
3/ I think that it is equal re lying about age despite the fact that i know for sure than 3 men on POF that I've met are lying about their age and only 1 woman
4/ I do think that women talk more behinds other womens backs that men talk behind mens back. However, I think just as many men talk about women as women talk about men. Regardless none of this is about lying.
5/And dyeing hair has nothing to do with lying either. i dye mine. Maybe more men would if it didnt fall out  | |

Everyone lie's anyone who can tell you they don't is a liar and just because they don't think its a lie its still a lie.

Ah... men just pretend to be interested in the woman! But in reality once we age (Ah... Paige... I changed my age back to the real one on the weekend, so now you know "zero" women who lie about their age!), we no longer pretend to be interested in what the men do to make them interested in us. Since I am so old, I don't even remember ever doing that. Now am curious about if your statement is true, or if you just "think" women actually do this. Another forum topic...
Women talk about women behind their backs a lot more than men..
Well, girls can be cruel (we all remember high school)... and women just talk more about anything, but I have been around enough men to hear them talk about both men and women in a very negative way. I just think that men can make up with each other quicker (beer and rum help) than women resolving difference of opinions. Men just generally tell the other to "f*&# off" and then they just act like nothing had happened in the past. Women fuss over issues.. and avoid them... and it takes a lot of work to make up. I have sometimes taken the man's approach to dealing with situations, and it really works! And I think that Chikki and I have completely different ideas on this topic! | |
