Delete the Old Threads [Locked - Redundant]
Posted: 3/29/2006 4:22:43 PM
I've seen alot of posters express frustration over people posting a topic covered in an old thread. I imagine that this must also be a pain for the moderators who have to constantly read over these posts.

Some of these threads have over 70 pages. Honestly, who is ever going to look at page 47 again?

Don't get me wrong, there is some classic material on these Forums that would be unfortunately lost. But, has any consideration been given to deleting these Forums every once in a while and start them up fresh?

That got done back in September I think...but I agree with you there...who really looks at page 47? lol...I suppose if it comes up in a thread search, it gets looked at.

It depends on what section it is in. And the possible redundancy of
the topic. I can't think of the keyword to pull up the thread....
but, Ticket/Moderator said it.

Poetry section sometimes has been over 250 pages. It depends on
the venue.

What about giving these threads a 'shelf-life'. If it hasn't been looked at in a month, it automatically self deletes.

Because, archiving is an attribute.
