| Mayan Riviera Posted: 4/21/2006 12:27:06 AM | Stay in Cancun if you want Vegas with a Beach atmosphere.... lots of clubs, lots of time share terrorists, lots of young people. Playa del Carmen if you want something a little more laid back & relaxing.
Cozumel was amazing before it became over commercialized
Attractions: Chichen Itza (ruins) Tulum (seaside ruins) Xel-Ha (snorkelling) Isla Mujeres (Island off the coast of Cancun - great day trip & amazing diving)
You can find a huge amount of information on the net. For general information on the area maybe give http://www.travelyucatan.com/yucatan-attractions.htm a try... for hotel/resort reviews have a look at trip advisor for some opinions - just remember to take some of them with a grain of salt.

| Mayan Riviera Posted: 5/19/2006 4:47:32 PM | | I have friends in southern belize...I used to go there and stay in the viliages...there are some hotels you can go and stay in very nice...but I prefer the more cultural places...you can acually go to teh villiage and do some home stays...in a hammock in a mayan or keckchi home..eat their food...explore the bush...see those lovely waterfalls at the end of a four hour walk through the jungle....nothing in the world like it... | |

Mind you the bus driver will have grog for a buck a bottle. If you want fun rent a motorcycle in mexico..............and have good life insurance. Its a real adventure driving there. he he he I'ld do the jungle slide also. Any tour outfit can book you pretty much. Its about an hour drive but fun being tarzan sliding through the tree tops.
