New Jersey will be representing the East. no doubt about that. Brodeur is the only goalie out of the 8 who has the experience, and thats enough for them to get by.

Posted: 4/18/2006 11:51:34 AM | It'll be hard for any team in the West to get by Detroit...my dark horse to come out of the west is San Jose. They have pretty good goaltending and lots of talent up front.
Out of the East I like Ottawa...if they make it out of the first round. If they start playing like they did at the beginning of the season with everyone healthy they'll be tough to beat even with Emery in goal.
Darkhorse out of the east - With a goalie like Brodeur I'd give it to NJ at this point. They are playing playoff hockey right now and they have arguably the best playoff goalie ever. | |

Eastern Conference:
Ottawa over Tampa in 5 games (but I'm a Tampa fan so Tampa over Ottawa in 7 games).
Carolina over Montreal in 6 games.
New Jersey over New York Rangers in 7 games.
Buffalo over Philadelphia in 5 games.

Plus, my Habs will take at least 2 from Carolina; but the way Carolina has been swooning of late, it could go 7.
Speaking of swooning, I don't think the Flyers will go very far. In fact, I think Buffalo will surprise them in 6 or 7. | |

OK, here are my predictions:
Western Conference:
Detroit over Edmonton in 6 games...........(Edmonton will steal 2 at home)
Dallas over Colorado in 6 games..............(Before Colorado traded Goalies, I would have taken them in 6)
Calgary over Anaheim in 6 games........(Theres a possible upset here, Anaheim is young and extremely fast, the new rules will make it hard for Calgary to clutch and grab).
San Jose over Nashville in 6 games......(Reverse this pick if Nashville hadn't lost their Goalie for the season).
Eastern Conference:
Ottawa over Tampa in 5 games....(Hopefully the real Senator team will show up).
Carolina over Montreal in 6 games....(This is my other gut feeling upset, if Huet gets hot in net, don't be shocked if Montreal takes this in 6 or 7).
New Jersey over New York Rangers in 7 games......(do the math, goaltending is the difference).
Buffalo over Philadelphia in 7 games.....(This will be a war whoever wins will be ripe for the picking in round 2). | |

tough 1 2 call,New Jers. peeking quite well last tail end but will go with Jagr & Co.{series}
another team in Philly with good/decent acquired players 2boot,they will out play the speedy Sabs.
Anyways,will watch & see. Enjoy watching T.Bay/Jagr&Co./Philly there leafslady.
I was at the "hardrockcafe" in TO on St.Patty's Day a few yrs.ago,total leafs fans at the rock.
