Do you think it is wrong to be with a male 17 years younger than a woman?

but you have to really get to know some one before you can fall in love, but is it worth it with such an age difference

Totally depends on the age of the woman....If you are referring to a woman who is say 30....ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.

If the young man is over 18 then I guess it wouldn't matter....although when my son turns 18 I sure as heck don't want him dating someone 17 years older than he is. Personally I think it wouldn't be a good idea to date someone that much younger, but I wouldn't say it is "wrong."

Yeah, I agree with Carol...........simply depends on the ages...........

30 and 47 works for example .........I think they should at least be 25 years of age as a given number so that have some maturity to handle an older woman.

well...i'm 44 and 30 doesn't work for ME even...why? because i think he and i are in totally different places in our lives, i've had my kids, they've grown up, i am in a different phase or something, i don't mean an OLD phase, just a diff one. i was in a totally different "place" as a person when i was 30... so... but of course there's nothing wrong with it, hey, to each their own, fall in love, have fun, go for it, et cetera...

That would make him 17 right?Idont think I would go there if I were you.My kids are 26 & 30 I think I wouldnt feel to comfortable being with someone that age.And he also wouldnt be too mature hes still a kid in my books. But only can decide whats best for yourself

I can honestly say that, if MY son was 17 and wanted to date a 34 year old woman....well, let me just put it this way....I am pretty sure I would make the woman's life a living nightmare.

Edit: You might not be able to help the way you feel....however, you CAN control your actions. I would avoid the situation if I were you.

All depends on the ages of the people involved. If a 30 yr old is wanting to date a 13 yr old well I think you need to seek help....serious help. But I know for a fact 43 & 33 work quite well together.

I think 17 is a bit much but if you really care for one another, what should it matter.

ouch, no way, jose. 17? not even of legal age to enter into a binding contract. and in some states it might even be considered statutory rape (not legal advice, that's something you need to look into on your own); er, um, don't even go there, girlfriend.

Nutty or not.....her son dating a 34 year old woman will turn her that way....

I guess I am just having a hard time seeing what any 34 year old woman would have in common with a 17 year old BOY. Heck, I am 29 and 17 is way too immature of an age for me.
Or maybe it is just the mother coming out in me.

JMHO.

So what if he looks older than 17.....be fair to the KID and treat him as his age. I am sure you can find a MAN closer to your age who is able to make you laugh. It sounds to me like you know what you should do.

With his age in particular, I wouldn't recommend it. There's nothing wrong with an older woman dating a man younger than herself, but personally I wouldn't recommend anything greater than a 10 year difference. But most importantly he has had no real life experience, and people change as they grow older.

If you realize that a relationship with him would not be a long-term one till death do you part, then enjoy his attention for a time and then move on. But unfortunately, while you are focused on this young fellow, you yourself are possibly missing out on someone who could be there for the long haul. So if you're looking for someone for the long-haul, stick with someone closer to your age...no more than 10 year rule.
