My last guy friend was certainly not perfect, but he was very very agreeable, and I rushed into it & scared him off. I feel like such a jerk. He thinks I'm a total weirdo now, and who can blame him. It's so hard after being with the same man for over a dozen years to not want the same thing again right away, especially when he treated me so special compared to the ex-h.
Now I'm seeing a new guy who may be doing the same thing to me; rushing in without testing all the waters of compatability yet. He's a helluva nice guy, but I feel like I am already in a relationship after one date. Partially my fault, I get too close, too soon. Ironic. It feels so weird, to see the shoe on the other foot. I am easily led and need to start standing on my own two feet. I need to see that the right [rather than 'perfect'...'perfect' is not a good word] man will come when I am ready for him to come along, not when I am trying to hard to get him. I think, anyways. I need to mellow out a bit and just not try so damn hard.
New-b, If you are reading this, then you know that I am still confused and self analysing again over the ex-h, the ex-b, and the --you-- new-b; so just hear me out & gimme my neurotic time, and let me think it all through. It isn't anything against you at all, you know that. I'm just too raw. I shouldn't even have a profile here... what the heck am I doing!? LOL I still love our chats, our time together so far, but I am tiptoe-ing in, not tangoing, ok? I need to learn a lesson here, so help me? | |

He is the most caring respectful and wicked funny guy ever!! and sorry ladies he's all mine!! He makes my heart skip a beat everytime I think of him. For example, by her own admission, Blinkvictoria had met someone who she'd scared off by rushing things. Now she's involved (or whatever) with a guy who's rushing things with HER, and she's realising that she may not be over things with her ex/the timing may be wrong, blah blah blah.
How about if people stop going onto these online sites until they're more emotionally equipped to deal with meeting new people. Take some time to mourn your dead relationship, heal, THEN move on. And yes, this includes those of you who did the breaking up. All you're doing is hurting other people who deserve someone who is ready, not someone who is still playing games with their exes or aren't sure of what they want.
One last thing: if you've just broken up with someone but go onto dating sites to meet new "friends", keep it that way. Intimate dinners with and flowers from strangers is not exactly "friendly". At least be honest with yourself if you're not going to be honest with someone else. We deserve better.
Buddacup, I wish you the absolute best with your new match. But keep in mind that a 'perfect' person deserves a perfect person in return. Most people who repeatedly meet 'jerks' are not likely 'perfect' people but are flawed and EXPECT the best while ignoring the facts about new people. "Those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it", as the saying goes...

We chatted and went out a few times...for 6 months, he kept telling me, his schedule was very full with work and his kid's? Trying to be understanding, and also could relate, I believed him. He was everything I thought I was looking for, he said he had "integrity" and still wanted to be friends. So, I agreed that would be great! Never heard from him again! He met someone else, while he was soooooo busy with work, and children. I feel like the fool, but I guess I should have read," he's just not that into you", I am pretty new at this dating thing, and really don't play the games. I've pretty much given up on this site. Good people are hard to find..I wish you luck, and hope it goes better for you, than my situation. | |
