| How old is too old Posted: 2/13/2005 4:11:00 PM | Hi all, i'm new here.
Consider this: 2 peoples with different chronological age. in reality though they both look, feel and act about the same.
Does chronological age really makes a difference? How much difference in age is too much for an healthy relationship? what is you're age and what age you consider to be too old for you or too young and why?
just curious what everyone's opinion is

| How old is too old Posted: 2/13/2005 4:20:29 PM | hey, im only 23 but i think this question is relevant to anyone who uses a dating service such as this. i personally find myself more attracted to women who are slightly older than i am. it's really unfair to put a number on and and say "i wont date anyone over 35!" because you never know.
i think what makes people compatible is less numbers than experience. for example, i do not have children. so a 20 year old with 3 kids may not match me as well as a 33 year old with no kids. what i mean is... its not the years, its the mileage that counts.
and the flip side of that: i work with a girl who is 25 and living with a 45 year old man. i try not to be judgemental, but i cant help but think... "why on earth is this decent looking young woman wasting herself on this old geezer?"

| I'm not looking for a birthdate. Posted: 2/13/2005 4:24:36 PM | | It really depends on the people involved. Personally, I like to keep the age difference within 10 years. However, if a person totally matched my image of my perfect match, I really wouldn't care about his age. I'm not looking for a birthdate. I'm looking for a man. | |

| I'm not looking for a birthdate. Posted: 2/13/2005 5:08:57 PM | | Age is only a number I am 39 but I wouldn't date a guy in 20's I personally like middle 30's on up...... | |

| I'm not looking for a birthdate. Posted: 2/13/2005 5:10:36 PM | 45...old geezer...says:
Most people in the US go by narrow age ranges, because that is how they were socialized. There are always expections. It can work, no problem, if both people are either realistic about the difference, or don't care about it.

| I'm not looking for a birthdate. Posted: 2/13/2005 6:15:40 PM | I`n 50 and loving it!!! I date guys that are in their early 40`s. I get alot of youngsters hit on me (late 20`s early 30`s) I prefer men 45 and up. I`ve always been with men slightly younger(4 or 5 years younger) I don`t think I`ve dated anyone older that myself....I would if I could find him....Age doesn`t mean much to me.. redneckgirl133 | |

| I'm not looking for a birthdate. Posted: 2/13/2005 6:32:02 PM | I've been issuing a little white lie (promise only 1) on POF. So I've renewed my judgement of the best men on this site - the intillectuals who don't look at a woman in dim light due to her age, but relish her just the same at any age. I originally thought that guys wouldn't look further if I said I was over 45. Well, maybe I would have missed out on the best one of them all. But if it's meant to be it will be. So I am now posting my true birthdate. Sorry to those who I mislead..... I also changed my profile... am no longer looking for a relationship; just friends. Also removed the younger me pics as that may have mislead you to think I am still that pretty girl. I thought that if I posted my scrapbook, you would know me more. Was wrong on that. Now you can see my photography, which is more importantly what I need to get back to, to show my true personality - hidden for a long long time. Be proud of your age, and just know what kind of woman you want regardless of her age. | |

| I'm not looking for a birthdate. Posted: 2/13/2005 6:37:30 PM | If you take a look at my profile, you will see where I am coming from on this issue. I have a definite preference for men younger than myself. I find I get along much better with them, and that they have a better attitude about women.
The biggest age gap issues are video games and music - we are seldom on the same page there LOL.

| How old is too old Posted: 2/13/2005 7:10:26 PM | 40 is geriatric? boy, have you got a lot to learn. Careful with saying that around here in the forums, plenty of people in their 30's and 40's fishing around, and suprise! going out with people in their 20's. Age is a state of mind. You are as old as you feel.

| How old is too old Posted: 2/13/2005 7:23:46 PM | | i'm 23 and for me you can't be older than about 25, i dunno, just dont have a thing for older men, there are always exceptions, but in general within a few yrs. I agree with greatwoman, she's not saying 40 is old, just saying that with such an age diff, at some point the person you love will be old and a LOT closer to dyin, lol and who wants their loved one to die 20 yrs before them | |
