Call me a skeptic but I seem to see false truths. Btw, none of the local "fish" were biting before I turned 24. I think us single nerds should have a strike. I agree....stop mentioning you are horny....every man is horny thats a given....also stop mentioning your lack of experience....be yourself, but you don't have to reveal everything off the top. And really I'm 29 and have never had a bf, and I'm not giving up, I think I might just have a nerdy bf in June if all goes as planned, and I seriously could not be happier. Smart is sexy.....play it that way more than I"m a NERD I'm a NERD everywhere.
Lol and those girls you asked out...so what they had bf's try finding a single girl to ask out....that way you have a better chance. | |

I usually make "Family Guy" quotes in public. I don't know why. I just do it. I even laugh at them to myself. I usually give the guys who have girlfriends the evil eye, except for fellow nerds. I'm happy for those guys.

He played D&D regularly in University
We actually made a character for me and played a game....I really didn't have any interest in it
In his spare time he made computer programs...D&D related
He worked on physics problems for fun!
When we played the game of life he was so upset that the one who didn't go to university always won (because they didn't have loans to pay off)
He created a program for life that better suited his view of reality
So yes, nerds get girlfriends....
But I DID break up with him! | |

Nerd=academically excelling (think the brains from Saved by the Bell)
Geek=adictions to gaming, magic, anime, collecting strange things.
Dork=Silly, slightly socially inept (tends to make a fool of themselves willingly to make friends).
Then I'd count him more as a nerd than the other ones. I'd never say no to a guy just based on the fact that he's a nerd (I like smart guys) but I've got a sweeter spot for geeky guys.
I know plenty of nerds who have girlfriends. They're usually a bit smarter than the bubblegum generation but they fit into that lifestyle pretty well. I haven't found a nerd who's tamed the prom queen yet but I'll leave that one to teen movies.
But I will agree that your choice of username on here could put off a lot of girls who are looking for more in their love lives than just sex. | |

I thought geeks were circus performers. Actually, I agree with your descriptions of geek & dork but since when is academically excelling the definition of a nerd? Does that mean all the women on here looking for intellegent men are seeking nerds? I think a nerd is a geek devoid of social or fashion consciousness -- someone who is visibally geeky.
To our thread starter, going 0-8 is not that big a deal. Average guys probably only succeed 1 out of every 10 times they attempt to ask a girl out. (I have absolutely nothing to back that up... just an arbitrary figure.) So by that reckoning, 1 of the next 2 girls you ask will say yes!
My suggestion is give up on the negativity because that will get you no where and post in the profile review forum. They will first tell you to drop the negativity. Then they will tell you to remove the hat and put on a shirt before taking and posting your next photo. Finally they will suggest you change your username and drop 'hot girls' & 'muchachas calientes' form your interest list.

I am a bit of a geek because I enjoy Star Trek and can say a few words of Klingon for laughs. And, yes, I've had a boyfriend. It was a good relationship until we discovered that we had different life goals. Yeah, maybe I said one Klingon word too many  Seriously, my point is that geeks can be successful in dating and love.
I am not really sure whether being a Star Trek/Star Wars fan makes someone a geek, or a nerd, but I don't care. It's fun, and I have many friends who also share that common interest.
