| Vasectomy is A wonderful thing! Posted: 4/27/2006 5:57:07 PM | Even though repopultaing the planet with kids from my gene pool would benefit the planet ---hahahahahaha---I think getting a "V" job was the best thing i ever did. Thats one less worry. BUT condom use depends if its a long term or short term relationship..Vasectomies dont allow us to to be foolish
EDIT...forgot...a V job doesnt tie...it cuts a section out--with a very sharp knife- then stitches the open ends together

| Vasectomy is A wonderful thing! Posted: 5/2/2006 9:44:49 AM | Condoms are not 100% safe a V is 4 sure the best if you do not want kids and I am like that. Condoms are good only if it's a one night stand or a short term 'date' cycle lol | |

| Vasectomy is A wonderful thing! Posted: 5/2/2006 9:48:38 AM | | Once were done having kids, (any time now hopefully LOL) I'll be getting snipped. Wish they had some sort of birth control pill for men though. I think that would be great, shake things up a bit. Woman are emotional roller coasters to begin with, why introduce a pill to an unstable system to begin with. Woman usually want there man to just show some more emotion, so maybe the male birth control pill could be the answear. | |

| Vasectomy is A wonderful thing! Posted: 5/2/2006 10:00:16 AM | A Vasectomy is not 100% effective against prengancy. The fact is it is effective for the most part, 99.9%, I believe they say, but that leaves a small margin of error. Besides, wearing a condom is just a good idea unless you know you both have been tested and proved negative for any STD's.
There are proven cases of women who had there tubes tied becoming prenant and of men with vasectomies impregnating a woman. Why would I put myself through the precedure of a vasectomy only to get the same effectiveness I could receive by simply wearing a condom? That way, if I decide I want kids some day and I'm no longer with a woman who doesn't, I can get with one the does want kids and I won't have to have surgery again to reverse the vasectomy. All I'd have to do is not wear a condom.

| Vasectomy is A wonderful thing! Posted: 5/2/2006 2:37:18 PM | Heya ace Its been a while but the procedure is easy 1st: talk to your doctor as he/she will set the appointment up On appointment day , you go in, they take you to this little room, you switch into hospital hi fashion, doctor comes in, you lay back, he grabs your bag a bit, cuts a neat little line in it, pulls your tube out a bit, cuts it, sutures it, stuffs it back in, sews up the bag cut, tells you to take it easy for a bit and have a good day..total time..about 1/2 to an hour They tell you to not do any strenuous work for a bit--doing hard work could rupture one of the sutures inside and leak blood,THE LAST THING YOU WANT IS FOR THEM TO HAVE O GO IN AND REPAIR DAMAGE Go back to hospital a few weeks later and give them a sample..they send it out to test and voila..
Pain when they cut you....a pinch in the arm hurts more...afterwards just feels like someone nutted you for about a week.. Its really the easiest thing Ive ever done

| Vasectomy is A wonderful thing! Posted: 5/2/2006 3:14:38 PM | I have to disagree with the statement
all men should have one... a condom is just no fun anyways
Vasectomy is a very personal decision that a man shouldn't be forced to make. There are some potential risks (minimal) and two very important factors that need to be considered. A vasectomy may prevent pregancy (at least 99% of the time, 1% of the time it doesn't work quite the way expected and women can get pregnant)... but a vasectomy will NOT prevent STD's. A condom is the only way to give some protection and even that isn't 100% although it will certainly minimize the risks.
The other important factor is the cosistency/smell and taste - it DOES change with a vasectomy. So if you got a girlfriend who loves the taste - don't be surprised if after a vasectomy she isn't as fond of it anymore. It becomes more bitter and has a more pungent taste & smell. It can be a turn off to many women even if they previously loved it.
Before doing anything that changes your life, get all the facts and make sure the decision is the best thing for you. Pregnancy is only ONE riks involved in sexual activity - but if eventually you want children or if you are enjoying a orally active partner you may want to reconsider.
Of course its all a matter of personal tastes (pun intended)

| Vasectomy is A wonderful thing! Posted: 5/2/2006 3:29:10 PM | | I'm planning on getting one I just have to find the right time. I have heard there is a new procedure that is less invasive and just as effective as the old surgical route. if i remember right its laser based but I'm not sure, I'll wait till I get a chance to talk to my Doc about it. But ondoms will still be a must outside of a ltr. | |

| Vasectomy is A wonderful thing! Posted: 5/2/2006 3:48:57 PM | | If you are in a long term relationship and you know you don't want kids, then it's much easier for a guy to get "snipped-snipped" than to have a woman get her tubes tied. It's much less invasive surgery. | |

| Vasectomy is A wonderful thing! Posted: 5/2/2006 4:19:32 PM | My BF has had a vasectomy, and I must say (being both disease free), Its bloody awesome.
If any thing should happen between us and I find myself single again *knock on wood* I would have a very hard time going back to using other methods of birth control (mainly condoms). Especially since I am allergic to them.
Yah life is all good, when you can fling bodily fluids around, with out a care.
hhmmmmm bodily fluids | |

| Vasectomy is A wonderful thing! Posted: 5/2/2006 4:33:21 PM | | I've had it done cause my little guys could swim to good and 3 kids later. It's a 20min operation when your awake. Only thing that remotely hurts is when they do the freezing. If you have kids and don't plan on anymore then get it done. | |
