My name is Marc Conti I go By Marcostranostra here I am a down to earth fun guy who has been here for about a year now and still haven't met someone whom I can call friends.I just moved from ASU West to ASU East in East Mesa where I know absolutely nobody and can't seem to meet anyone other than who I see at school ,which kinda sux because they are always new people and/or I am too busy to hang out with them.I thought that this might be a great chance to get myself out there and meet other people but I still haven't heard from too many people yet ,but I will keep trying cause I love P.O.F.

Welllllllllll, there is not much to do here unless you like clubs or stuff like that. But there are a few things worth while for the more cultured... like the willow house ( a place where people read poetry) and there are a bunch of art galleries and stuff like that in downtown. If you are into that (I am). There are also alot of good local shows, and now that spring is here there is spring training for MLB. Then there is always the lake in summer and up north where ppl camp and ride quads and outdoor activities. Oh and there are book clubs and readings on the weekend. Don't know where those are tho. Hope this helps!

Check the New Times and the Get Out! newspapers... They tell you of what is everything happening during the week...Mill and University for the younger crowd (19 to 24)... But for the more mature, laidback, and older crowd is anywhere in the Phoenix, Scottsdale, and Chandler areas some great clubs and bars...

An exceptional place for atmosphere and live music is Geordie's at Wrigley's Mansion. The panoramic view is spectacular. The bands are contemporary yet the crowd is diverse, 30 to 50 year olds.

if a link is allowed I pasted it below...

There are contra dances all over Arizona. Contra dancing is a kind of old timey country dancing. The dances are done in long lines of couples and the couples progress up and down the line so that each couple gets a chance to dance with every other couple.

These dances draw hundreds of people, at each dance. The music is live and the dances last for about three hours. There is a half hour workshop before the dance starts, and every dance is taught. So you don't have to be a great dancer to go to any of these. If you can count to eight you can do this kind of dancing.

Although many people do come as couples, many more come alone. So you do not need a partner. Plenty of singles come to these dances, so you may well meet someone.

Smoking is not permitted at any of these dances and alcohol is also not available or permitted.

To check these dances out, go to either:
www.tftm.org
or
www.pfotm.org

Have fun!

I forgot to mention. These dances are also VERY low cost, less than ten bucks, some much less.

Enjoy!

No its not really square dancing, cause its a circle.

lol
Everyone is in one large circle, as opposed to square dancing 4 in a square.....
The concept is similar, though
They are quite fun, country is you thing.
