| Surrounded by over weight women in Houston Posted: 4/29/2006 6:33:49 AM | Yes many women are overweight, but we all change as we get older and many men are not as attractive as they were 20 years ago. I have a thread entitled "Fantasy or Reality do we want the women on the dresser" Sounds like you do. When I was young I use to model and throughout my 20's and early 30's I was obsessed with my appearance. I ran, dieted, sweat, dyed, weaved and fried my hair until I was almost bald. Everything I could to stay small and beautiful. I thought any woman over a size 12 was fat. But I met allot of abusive men (in all forms). Yes, they were handsome. You had to be at least 6'0 tall and more handsome than Apollo to date me, but my mother said they were 'psychotic'. I was like a trophy could never gain weight and abused. Then I got into a relationship and gained weight (he was a country boy that could cook) and looked up and wore a size 18 and almost lost my mind. Well, I am not a 18 now I am about a 14-16 and going down, but I saw the world through a different set of eyes. I started to see how superficial men and myself had become. It took me getting fat to be free. The closer I got to 40 and the closer I have gotten to God the happier I have become. No, I am not back down to a size 12 yet, but I am getting close, but for the first time in my life I truly love myself. So, I have started to shed the superfical and reveal who I really am. I think by summer I should be down to the 12's, or less but the pilgrimage I have been on I will never return to the old girl. I am happy with myself and looking for a partner. My best friend. If he can love me looking like this then he will really love me when I land from my pilgrimage. . | |

| Surrounded by over weight women in Houston Posted: 5/5/2006 4:53:34 AM | | Well, I am not overweight and not thin either but I work hard to stay fit, it takes a lot of time to work out but its worth it, one feels good when they look good. I have friends who are overweight and trying to help them to be healthy and fit. Most of them likes to eat but some of them also have some medical problem. So? it depends to their way of eating and living. I do like men who are healthy and not overweight, but dont hate men who are overweight, its their own preference on how they look at themselves. | |

| Surrounded by over weight women in Houston Posted: 5/5/2006 2:05:50 PM | Middle aged guy here, and I would love to be "surrounded by overweight women" in Dallas. LOL
I don't find so-called "overweight women" to be bitter and they sure as heck aren't "gross" unless there's a hygiene issue (which can happen with any type of person, large/small/whatever). I am a big guy myself, and would hope someone didn't judge me based on my size alone. I am also highly intelligent, responsible, well-educated, fun to be with, caring, loving, honest, sincere, trustworthy, loyal, brave and all the other qualities from the boy scout motto...hahaha...
Don't judge people by only their outward appearances, joejoe. You are probably missing out on a lot of fun and maybe even the love of your life by being so judgemental. | |

| Surrounded by over weight women in Houston Posted: 5/7/2006 3:46:41 PM | I agree with you on that, not judging people, because there are a lot of great women, great personalities, who are not barbie. I hate that Barbie, she has everything. But, anyway there are a lot of people who would call me too big, although I'm really just average to slightly overweight. How many profiles have been passed by when the size is overweight?>? Too many people do not give us chunky girls a chance, and it is a real shame. You can say the same for all people, men and women. Not all guys look like Adonis ya know, I look for what is inside anyway. Not the physical, but the personality, intellect and if he can make me laugh, that's great. | |

| Surrounded by over weight women in Houston Posted: 5/10/2006 9:18:06 PM | I think it's a sign of the times. Many of us Americans are so busy with work, kids, taking care of our homes, etc., that we don't have the time or energy to properly eat and exercise like we should.
My daughter is 16, and she was mentioning how many overweight people there are here in north Texas (well, actually she said The Colony, where we are from).
Personally, I think you should be happy with your own self-image. My wife passed away in March (she was diagnosed with cervical cancer about 3 years ago). So for the last 3 years, I have spent time taking care of her and neglecting my needs. So now I'm working on getting myself back in shape, and it's murder!!!! Limiting my intake, cutting out sweets, eating less processed food is not too difficult. But after a long day at the office, I really don't feel like cooking, then the kids run me ragged each night with errands, doing laundry and dishes, picking up (yeah, I know, I'll make someone a great wife some day ), I'm exhausted!
Have lost over 15 pounds, and am working on more. If weight is an issue, you might want to start looking for women at the health spas or gyms. But I imagine most of the women there are probably in good shape and taken, or just ignore all the men hitting on them.
