| Difference between pc chating and outside Posted: 5/4/2006 12:54:52 AM | Cyberspace is great for the Forums
But for anything else it is pretty much a waste of time
Cyberspace You talk to someone via email Eventually you exchange phone numbers Some time later you arrange to meet face to face You decide there is no spark even though you got on well by phone etc
Real life You see someone walking down the road and say Hi Immediate answer one way or the other .. .

But too many forget that it is just a place for introductions Nothing romantic can actually happen until and unless you actually meet in person .. .

| Difference between pc chating and outside Posted: 5/4/2006 2:24:33 AM | | I'm with elli on this one, I'm pretty shy in person till I am comfortable with someone, but on here I am alot more open. After all if you do say something stupid, the people you are chatting with can't see you blush, and you don't see them laughing! | |

| Difference between pc chating and outside Posted: 5/4/2006 3:06:54 AM | i like both! they both offer something which the other doesn't and mixed together, they offer so much more than what we used to have. here, people all around the country/world with an open voice. outside is more local. cheers. | |

| Difference between pc chating and outside Posted: 5/4/2006 3:10:40 AM | hmmmm i would have to say that im pretty much the same on here as i am out in the real world... im sure there are a few people that can say that
and yes i always laugh in real life as i do on here.... i can be twice as funny with my dippy comments.... but they only come across that way in RL as i have the facial expressions and the body movement to go with it that ya cant see thru typed words....

| Difference between pc chating and outside Posted: 5/4/2006 10:26:38 PM | I like to use all senses when "meeting" a personto get a feel ie verbal, body language and mannerisms they give me added perspective on the person these don't come through in PC chat (without or without any visuals).
As an exmaple, people do "talk" with their eyes and many a time the eyes and speech are well not in synch is the best way to describe it.
However, I can say I still have fun meeting/ chatting to people from both mediums. Each has its own merit.

| Difference between pc chating and outside Posted: 5/22/2006 10:23:43 PM | Hi I think in a small country town it is too hard to find anyone you are compatible with, so I love this site where I can meet guys from all over the country to talk to. Also guys don't walk around the streets with a big sign on their heads saying 'I'm Single - Come and get me" Although that would be great at times. | |

OT
Well, I would have to say that I can talk under wet cement (a few can actually provide real affidavits to support that) so I can chat on my pc and in my real (non) life....

| Difference between pc chating and outside Posted: 9/30/2007 5:55:13 AM | When do we get the time to go out as much as in our 20s and early 30s????????. Having child/children then having to earn money for bread and milk (and perfume of course to wear when on pof ) then do school runs just run from one outside school activity to another, and this and that....clean wash cook…when do we get time????
most friends are married and or on with their own family, most outings are family gathering and at friends houses with children.
To go out means leaving your children here and there or with baby sitters...well ...in that case I prefer POF...where I could go all over the world with friends while at home looking after my own child and when I am tired I don't have to drive home.
all the people here????? They are all real people and most of the ones I know, real good people. Wow I rather this to a pub, but of coursly I go out too, but not as much as when I had less responsibility.....in my late teens, 20s and early 30s

| Difference between pc chating and outside Posted: 10/1/2007 1:46:12 AM | Hahaha ... yes I love how people on the internet aren't "real people" ... if that's the case, there are a LOT of robots out there with seemingly awesome artificial intelligence!! .... but of course, there's still some that could use more programming | |
