Most of the people arguing religion are men.

Why?

all of the greatest philosophers and spritual leaders have been men, even if the new age or pagan beleif.
some would say it is because women are repressed.
Others would say that it is biological
I think that it is because men feel more of responsiblity to their world, although many lack that feeling for their own family.

Ah,I was waiting for someone to ask that. This is the way men's minds work.We tend to think about the abstract things in life moreso than the mudane affairs of people and their lives. For me the important things in life lie beyond what we can see, hear, taste, touch and smell.I also don't feel I need to live out my life and die to understand the mysteries of the cosmos.I want those answers now!
If you look at history, the important philosophers, religious leaders and such were all men(I know there were some women involved here and I'm aware some feminists will take exception to what I just said and try to tell me that's because history is written by men and so men never thought of women's opinions to be important. But I stand by my statement).
Yes we argue,we fight wars and such BUT,we were the ones who built the pyramids and put a human on the Moon.I heard one theory explain it this way.Women create life by giving birth and so there is their impetus toward creativity.A man can't,therefore he seeks to create by his accomplishments in work, art, philosophy, science, etc.
I know there are women who excel in these fields but for the most part it's men.

Guess I'm a gay man in a woman's body....

You don't see me spending all my time talking about the name of
my vibrator or what turns me. All the women on here are over in
the Sex& Dating forum. No thanks I'll take a good political/Religious
debate over that kind of nonsense any day.

I wish more women would be involved in Political issues....
thats the problem!

I agree, that way when she asks what I am thinking then I could actually tell her without her getting bored.
I like women that are involved in current issues in politics, and who could hold her own in a spiritual\religous discussion.

You know what happens though? When a guy argues with a woman about these things
and can't overpower her they go straight for insulting her looks. I can think of several
instances here to myself (and one public apology I should add) and at least 5 emails daily.

They don't do that to other men... maybe thats what they do instead of threating physical harm.
Whatever the reason, its lame. This could be why women don't get into more political/social arguements...
men can't handle them having thier own opinions and have to smack 'em down with insults that
effect thier self-esteem.

I like a woman(or male friend for that matter)with their own opinions.I don't want a yes girl always agreeing with me.That's boring.

Sorry DanceInPants... didn't intend to hijack your thread into a secular
arguement of the sexes. Its just similar to something I've been meaning
to post for a while involving the lack of women in these forums
and mens reactions to those who are...

I think that maybe you have been talking to the wrong guys, I personally do not resort to unsults, I think that is below me.
And on the rare occasion that I am wrong I will admit to it.

Yeah, sorry there Eccentric. I should have put the "some men" diclaimer.

Believe me I don't talk to them! Ok, I admit I bait here on the forums as
I love a good argument, but I certainly don't ask to be sent personal
insults through email when they've had no prior contact with me....
maybe they are just being "pre-emptive". LOL!

I can't believe the morons on this site who feel the need to do that.

I think that too many people don't know the differance between baiting an argument and being antagonistic, and then they take personal offense for something somebody said 1000 miles away.

That's why I have a picturre of myself in a bikini.

Plus if someone is so deeply into what they would believe that if they changed their mind they would have a nervous breakdown --- they can just say to themselves.... she can't be that smart she looks slutty! Poor girl. Low self esteem.... tries to crush other people's beliefs to make herself feel big.

I get fat comments even though there is no photo of my body and
there is no double chin in site. Guess they just assume that because
I have strong opinions and get fiesty that I must a miserable fat woman.
I'm not skinny, but I'm not miserable about it either. The dumba$$es.

P.S. Love those "vintage" pics of you. Very nice! A friend as been after
me to take some photos like that, Pin-Up'esque.... but I'm not that photogenic.

Actually Shannanigan it is too bad that you don't like Jesus Freaks. It is hard to find a woman who appreciates Fine Irish Music.
