Right now, I've mixed Diet coke & a generic brand cherry soda. Gonna try it with strawberry soda next. And I find myself wondering what Nectar soda will taste like with the coke.
My mom's even worse than me, She's been known to mix iced tea and diet coke.

Now, I like mixing stuff with sodas sometimes. My favorite is some Sprite or 7-Up mixed with the Dutch liqueur Coebergh...mmmm...
Most North Americans have never heard of this great stuff, since it basically isn't exported out of Holland. I'd not heard of it, either, but I'm fortunate enough to have some Dutch friends who turned me onto it and a few other great beverages!
Coebergh, by the by, is a relatively high-proof liqueur made from wild blueberries. Useful with food too...it's too tart on its own, but mixed with some decent blueberry syrup it's just all kinds of yummy on waffles.
Another great mixer is the Dutch 'Safari;' this one's made from mango, papaya, marucaya (a sort of yellow passionfruit, I think), and wild lime. Most tasty even with just club soda, but it too goes well with the white sodas like Sprite. Loads of possibilities abound for its mixability with all sorts of fruit sodas, I don't doubt.
The third good Dutch treat is 'Pisang,' an emerald green liqueur made from kiwi. Haven't messed with this one much, as I only have a tiny bottle of it!
On a side note, I've never been much of a beer drinker, but whenever I go to my local pub I order a drink called 'Hummingbird Water.' Yeah, it's probably sissified compared to beer, but I love it. It's a mix of hard pear cider and Belgian framboise (raspberry) ale. Like a potable alcoholic confection...YUM!

There was even a local pop stand you could order it at and the people working there knew what you were talking about. You always had to say minus the diet, though...that stuff is nasty even when mixed with everything else.

| Totally original soda mixing thread!!! Posted: 5/10/2006 11:01:18 AM | | hmm, my brother used to be big into "swamp water". As a kid I used to always mix mountain dew with orange crush. I don't drink carbonated beverages anymore though unless it's gingerale with my rye, and I stir out the bubbles anyways. | |

|
| Totally original soda mixing thread!!! Posted: 5/10/2006 9:11:28 PM | I mainly mix fruit juice with soda - my favorites are usually 1 part orange, mango, or cherry juice with 2 parts 7up. Apricot nectar works well, too.
I'm just starting to play with brewing soda concoctions from scratch; starting with ginger beer.
