What I want to know who is told them that. Not that it's not true but do the guys who are having a hard enough time getting dates really need more competition? | |

Some (not all) girls make me laugh...they spout alot of the feminist rhetoric at the right times ("you don't own me" "I'm an Independant Woman") but are curiously silent when its time to pay the restaurant bill and deeply resent doors that are not opened for them. Also, while it is not unusual for men in the professions to date women with less glamourous occupations (i.e., cashier or hairdresser) I have yet to see a female doctor or lawyer marry a welder or plumber. There is a double standard at work. Still, there's plenty of nice girls around but you gotta deal with alot of big, smelly feet before the Glass Slipper fits Cinderella. | |

maybe 50%...

I'm not sure, but for sure it's not true

I do think Montreal women are BEAUTIFUL...but I haven't met too many friendly ones unless they work in a retail shop or a restaurant. The friendlier ones I've met are the ones that are anglophone...I even try to speak French in Montreal but I usually get yelled at for not speaking it properly 
Anyways interesting thread...thanks for starting it and if you have a link to the article could you kindly post it. I'd like to read the article.

I would be curious to see that article myself.
Personally, I think there are beautiful women in Montreal who are friendly....and also others who would send a guy to go take a flying leap. And the nice ones are not just the ones who work in the service sectors....LOL

Posted: 7/24/2006 1:58:18 PM | Well Poetica...to tell you the truth I've only been to M-Real two times...so I know where you are going with that..."you haven't really experienced too many of the Montreal women" you are probably going to say...lol...The first time I was there in 1995 (referendum) I found them REALLY hostile esp when I told them I was from Toronto (where I lived at the time)...Then I went back in 2004 and I found them MUCH friendlier...but still somewhat cold. I'm tempted to check out the scene there now...but I'd still be apprehensive to approach one and speak English to them, and my french is merde .

I'm not sure what you mean by attitude. Attitude can be found anywhere. Montreal women have something special that isn't found elsewhere in Canada. | |
