| ok whats life lke at 45 Posted: 5/11/2006 10:28:00 AM | I turn 50 this year, and I don't drink or do drugs...and I can't say that my social life is barren.
They're out there, dude. I've been in the dating scene for close to three years now and as frustrating as it has been and miserable as I've felt at times...I'm sure I wouldn't have traded a single moment for anything.
It's called 'having a life.' Don't worry.

| ok whats life lke at 45 Posted: 5/11/2006 10:33:45 AM | Okaaaayyyy, are you just hoping to get some birthday wishes out of us other fishies? HEHEE..
Of course there is hope for us over 45er's! Otherwise I would have given up myself. I have a lot of love to offer someone still. Maybe even my true and forever love will come along. (Fingers crossed, toes too!) As far as life beginning at 40? Maybe they say that because it is the average age in a persons life when they begin to realize the real important things. Our families, our friends, living morally and with compassion to others,etc.etc. Perhaps it is a time when we realize that working long hours for tons of moolah does not compare to spending time with loved ones, and doing things that inspire and fullfill us. What have you been doing for the past five years if not living your life? Surely you have been enjoying yourself. Yes I know you are talking about having someone to love and share life with. That could happen for you tomorrow, and it may still take a few years. To be able to fullfill your life with others, and to love yourself, will help you along the way.
P.S. It is your bday tomorrow so here you are. Wishing you the best John.

| ok whats life lke at 45 Posted: 5/11/2006 10:33:50 AM | Life is the same as it was yesterday. Just because you have a birthday doesn't mean that the core of a person changes. Life is what you make it so be happy.

| ok whats life lke at 45 Posted: 5/11/2006 10:42:04 AM | | The only thing I can say is that statistically, after age 45, the man to women ratio starts favoring the men. | |

| ok whats life lke at 45 Posted: 5/11/2006 11:29:18 AM | | I'm 46. I forget what life was like at 45. That tells you how life is at 46. All I seem to recall from last year is loud noises, bright lights and walking around with my fly open more than I care to admit. Aging is fun. Just go with it and enjoy the ride. I'll be 47 soon. I epxect to start losing body parts soon. | |

| ok whats life lke at 45 Posted: 5/11/2006 11:32:35 AM | | I turn 49 on Saturday. I think I had more money when I was 45. But definitely better health now. That has taken a lot of work, though. | |
|
| ok whats life lke at 45 Posted: 5/11/2006 11:40:14 AM | Turning 45 won't make any difference...you will have the same opportunities you've always had. If you've been 'waiting' on love since you turned 40, then perhaps you need to take a more active role in finding it. Most of the important things in life take some effort...that doesn't change as you get older. In fact, the opposite may be true.
btw...there are plenty of us out there that don't drink, use drugs, etc.
And, happy birthday! | |

| ok whats life lke at 45 Posted: 5/11/2006 12:08:00 PM | Hmmm.... 45 was so long ago...
Since 45 I have been to Italy, France, Florida and back (in 4 days), been engaged, married, divorced....
Your birthday, and birthday, doesn't change a thing except it hopefully makes you one year wiser.

| ok whats life lke at 45 Posted: 5/11/2006 12:42:24 PM | johngemmer - nice trike
YOU are at a perfect age - take advantage of that perfect age - RIGHT NOW - trust me it don’t stay around all that long.
When I was a teen - my dad told me “a guy at about 40 has it made - when it comes to females” - he went on to say things like - they have a very wide age group to “work” within. I had no idea what he was talking about - but OH BABY did I learn later.
I got married at 23 and 16 years later got divorced - wham I was single at 39 (right on time and right when my dad said was perfect)
My dad was right - girlz were coming out of the woodwork and they were all ages. That was before all these singles sites - everything was done face to face. I got married again about 18 months later to a much younger gal but that 18 months was totally a fantastic time. One of my nephews (actually his brother also) still think I am some kind of stud muffin because a gal they went to high school that they had both tried to get to first base with - did everything a female could do to a guy to me (short of killing him) she was 21 and I was 39 - damn she was good looking.
Much to my shock I hit this singles stuff 3 years ago to see a totally different female pool - now the 45-55 gals have 28 - 99 as the age group they are after - what they really mean is a new 25 year old guy every month. So I have no interest in 80% of the 45-55 gals - knowing they really want hook ups with guys 20-25 years younger than they are.
john - NOW is your time - make the most of it.

| ok whats life lke at 45 Posted: 5/11/2006 12:52:01 PM | Hey...I had breakfast in Germany, lunch in Switzerland and dinner in France all on ONE day a few years ago.
Maybe I'll recreate some similar travelling feast after I turn 45. I guess I'll have to watch the calories more after age 45. Dang-it.

| ok whats life lke at 45 Posted: 5/11/2006 3:33:18 PM | Only if you left without paying the ticket, babe!!!
Well east, they automatically put it on your credit card when you have a rented car. We didn't know about it till we got home. Would you believe it, a speeding ticket in Germany. Was doing 57 in a 50 zone? Guess they just like to hit up the tourists for extra cash.

You will soon discover that Life as you know it will change. Great secrets are held until one turns 45 (pssst - there are women who actually admit to enjoying sex ).
Secure in the knowledge that you hold the Great Secrets, your confidence level will rise. That will bring about a physiological change resulting in a surge of male pheromones. Women will flock to you and beg to have their wanton ways with you.
Do not bathe for a week after your birthday. Each day be sure to jog for an hour in a pig sty.
Yes, things will change.
