People with dogs are more approachable. Is it too obvious to take along a cute pup or does it make you look desperate??

Depends on where you're taking this pup? Out to a park would be fine, great place to meet men.

Haha... you better love that "cute pup" or they will act up and make you look like a bad parent :D

I agree with DAMSEL...you better have a handle on that dog or you'll end up looking silly.

As for men having a dog with them...no, that makes no difference to me at all.

Hmmm... but you can learn a lot about a person, how they treat their own or another's pets.

It may also depend on the breed of dog. Ours is house trained and crate trained but not very leash trained. He's also more elephant than dog. I don't walk him, he walks me

I am fresh back here from another site and so pizzed off smoke is probably coming out my ears. I typed out a big post and did not post it.

Not that I think it was directed at me - but she was saying - any guy that has a picture of his mom on his profile is proving that his potential mate would always be second fiddle to his mom ......... WHAT.

How in the heck she made that leap is a total puzzle to me. Then someone said there is NO PLACE for kids pictures on singles sites - humm some grandmas are pretty dang proud.

Before anyone said anything about pets - I left and came back over to this site.

I am an animal lover and if they don’t like it they can ............ SUE ME.

On webcam sites I am the guy always trying to get people to put their pets on on their webcam. I am the guy that goes out “girl watching” and my favorite thing to see is some dog with its head out the car/truck window. My next favorite thing to see is little kids waving at me and my motorcycle. IF those two things are not around I THEN look at the females.

Ok ........... calming down some here ......... nice pictures WhenIFallinLuv - oh and your dog is cute too

Doggie bait works!!! Need I say more!

Puppie bait works even better. Years ago a couple of my single guy friends used to drop by and borrow the puppie for the purported purpose of giving it some exercise...lol. They were headed to the local beach/boardwalk and wanted blonde bait. Apparently it worked for them, they kept borrowing the dog

I don't approach people with dogs. People with dogs look married.

[Quote]People with dogs look married.

That is, bar none, one of the most illogical statements I've heard in a long time!! And from a person whose logic (while sometimes twisted) I've admired too!

It's irrational. Just my impression that having a dod resembles domestic life, settled down, and being married. I think the same thing when I see someone driving a minivan or an SUV. Or buying a whole gallon of milk. I know it's not always true. Lots of unmarried people have dogs. And some have ferrets. If I see a woman walking in the park with a dog I think she's probably married.

Yeah, I find that irrational. If she was married, most times her hunsband would be with them?

Oh Hell. I drive a mini van too...

Trust me on this one ok - the percentages of people walking their dog that are single is actually higher than the % that are married - they send the kids to walk the dog.

But if more guys think like you do, it's no wonder I'm single and wanting!!

Believe me, no guys think like I do. It's a freak of nature situation over here.

I don't approach women who don't have dogs, either. I think I shouldn't have posted in this thread.

Desparate? Why would it make you look desparate? You are going for a walk with your friend who also happens to provide an easy subject for starting a conversation. I have met a lot of really nice people because of my dog. We both have lots of dog walk friends.

Take the dog with you. Even if you don't meet anyone your friend is still there for you.

Doggie Bait - not in my case. My rottweilers work as man repellent

I love my pooch unconditionally - wish I could say the same about people..

They all seem to want something more from a person than a bowl of biscuits

I know better... Rottweilers' reputation has improved and I know for a fact they are one of the gentlest and smartest of all breeds. Not scared at all haha

Hey nice to see you back Falcon

Well I walk my dog and don't care if little Mojo is date bait or not - he's my buddy and he likes going for a walk. and if people don't like seeing his pic on my profile - then good - it helps weed out the ones I don't want to date , especially when they read my profile

I once dumped a guy because he was all warm & fuzzy around my dog and then did a 180' and showed his real self. I'll take the dog over the guy anyday! BUT .... back on topic .. not many people will put up with a day with the dog, so I guess if I want to do an outdoor festival I'll have to go it alone ... I mean with my dog.

If you have a dog - it needs to be walked.
If it attractes men - that's a bonus.

Cute Puppies and really small babies

Best bait out there by a long way

And the best part about it is very simple
You don't have to do a thing
Just walk along with either looking helpless

All those statements are irrational, but interesting nonetheless. I can't really relate to the dog=married thing, but the gallon of milk or choice of vehicles makes perfect sense to me. But then again, I'm often irrational myself

I'm always more drawn to people with pets(dogs) when I see them out. And I can't think of a time I have approached someone with a dog that they haven't been super friendly.
