Orlando, Florida here I come, but where to go ?
Posted: 5/17/2006 12:13:07 PM
Hello there people. This coming July I will be going to Orlando. I have a business trip which runs from wednesday-saturday. This will be my first time ever on the east coast. I'll be leaving here on Sunday 23rd, and coming back the following week.... probably on monday mid-afternoon. Anyways... what do I do while in my free time ? Where do I go ? and more importantly... how much will it cost me ??

Just to make things a bit worse... I'm only 20, so I can't get into anywhere 21+. =( Should I plan on renting a car ? or just taxi/shuttle everywhere ? I'd really appreciate all the help I can get. A LOT OF HELP PLEASE ! I don't wanna spend my whole trip in the hotel and at the meetings.

P.S. I'll probably have about $1,000 to spend only. not including food.
THANKS !

Be careful if you try to rent a car, most rental car companies won't rent to anyone under 25. I've only been to Orlando to see Disneyworld so I'm not much help (but Disney is lots of fun)

soooo much to do and see there. jenw's right-most agencies won't rent if you're under 25 but the bus systems in Orlando are great. You can take it to any park, Disney, MGM, Universal (my favorite). The hotels can book tours in and out of Orlando and they usually have thousands of brochures of what to see and do. Foods cheap if you go to the buffets.
Have fun!

If you get to pick a place to eat you must go to TU Tu Tangos. It is awesome. The food is extremely good and the price is right. Very eclectic atmosphere and a lot of fun in the evening.

They have trolleys you can buy a pass for and the bus system is very good. Taxi's are very expensive due to the traffic. Depending on where you are staying lots of places are within walking distance. Be sure to ask the bellman they know all the great places and have coupons for discounts!!!! ENJOY.

Before you go, get a free Orlando Magicard from the visitor's online site. I can't list the URL, since we aren't allowed to do that. This card gives you discounts at many places. Bring the list of places with you since merchants don't advertise there that they accept the Orlando Magicard for discounts.

Orlando, Depends on your interests

HiMagicligh In Orlando you are only about an hour from Daytona Beech or an hour from Kennedy Space center( the three form a triangle). In downtown Orlando there is Rosie O'Grady's. It is the old train station converted to bars and resturants with several bands and games. Seafood should be good at nearly any resturant you go to. Ask at your hotel for most interesting things to do in your area.

Peace,

Mack

I love the Rosie O'Grady's idea. I love seafood and music. and if its a train station converted there has to be nice history behind it. I love learning about stuff like that. Disney world also has to be a great idea. And don't forget the tons of great stores since its a widely visited are..
