I was contacted tonight by someone..we had exchanged a few messages, I just went to send another message and I see he's been deleted. When I searched for user, the message was that he deleted his profile Nov 17, 2004. How can this be when I spoke to him today?

Two days ago I went to respond to a message I rec'd at 2pm only to get a message that the person had been deleted for inactivity at 1am that day. How can THAT be if we'd been sending messages as well?

Am starting to get a complex here....LOL

Is there a glitch that you aren't aware of yet perhaps?

Deletion dates are reported in vancouver time, mail times are reported in the timezone the user has set when they log in...

Both of us were in Vancouver so that and the other person I meantioned was in Victoria so, we were all in the same time zone.
Still doesn't explain why someone that deleted his profile back in November was able to send several messages today and then all of a sudden was poofed.
Was a decent stab at a reason, but it doesn't really float. Thanks for trying.

Oh i didn't read it right.. thought it said feb.

that would mean someone came back under a username that a previous user already had. The search could be showing the deleted user instead of the "active" one. Ie he isn't really deleted, or he deleted himself and now its sorting the delete dates wrong. ie oldest to newest not newest to oldest.

Today I signed to be a member in here(1st in my life) after a few hours I re-typed my password and BOOM!!! It's written that no name in here! Ohh My God. I have sent some messages but now I can't log in!

I restarted signing as the same name.GREAT! I did it once more! After loging out and came beck about 2 hours later.BOOM! My profile is deleted!!!

I resigned as a new name CEYK05 right now! But I won't fill my properties..There is no guarantee that my id will be stay forever...SO I will wait for it to see weather I won the battle with admin.

I searched for my first nick and it says Nick deleted by admin...! I don't understand anything...Any idea? Anyone can help me?
Love,
CeYK

Same thing happened to me today! It says: "Deleted by admin, for being inactive Jan 31 2006 1:28AM" when we had just exchanged email messages yesterday! I'm not sure if it's a glitch or something an admin can look into?

Thanks for looking into it, but I'm still a bit confused: Was this a routine clean-up operation because some people had more than 1 profile?

Pretty much routine, keep in mind there are 10's of thousands of users that share computers, so it make take me a while to get through and find all the fakes.

If numerous complaints are lodged against you, most likeley yes, subject to investigation. Best course of action, do not resort to uncivil behaviour even if they do, report them or block them. Two wrongs don't make a right.

So glad I just read this ... a deleted user contacted me today and asked me to contact customer service on his behalf. I did not. I was thinking that no one actually gets deleted without some sort of investigation into the complaints and now I'm glad to see that my intuition was right.

I knew there was a good reason why I stay here and just continue to mind my manners and have a good time!

Thank you ... Trapped ... for this post! I'm sure I would have found the information elsewhere, but because I check in on your posts from time to time, I found it.

I think the moderators and admin. do a good job with this site and endeavor to remain.

So someone and their friends could lodge a complaint against you and you could get deleted without any warning or investigation?

as mentoned above, "If numerous complaints are lodged against you, most likeley yes", BUT, subject to investigation by Admin. Admin does not blindly delete any profiles upon simple hearsay.

Do not engage anyone with disputes in the forums - period. If off topic personal attacks are levied against you - report the incident and back away from the altercation.

Perhaps this was the better place to reprt my complaint. I am requesting a profile deleted for the reason the information is complely false and fraudulent. I'm not trying to revenge anyone here, just very angry that this person advises others (and myself) of how we are not being honest etc... So for some reason after we had numerous wonderful discussions this guy tells me the profile is a made up character of 5 guys that all respond for him!!! I could not believe it! I am so enraged by this, how many other women they are giving advice to, hopes to etc..They told me word for word (why, because I challenged him/them in ways they were surprised) that they do this to depict the women that are gold diggers, shallow and that is what all women are!! I hope you feel the way I do about this. The Profile is SCOOTERBOY. By the way your site is awsome and after recently being single after many years there is an avenue to help me get through with companionship. Thank you so much.

^^^^^^^best place to report this would be on the report user option on their profile, there is an option for incomplete/nonsense profile. Either that or mail one of the mods.

I'm not a mod, but deleted means their profile has been deleted either by the user or by admin for rule violations so are unable to use the site at all, banned means they have recieved a ban be for it a few days, a few months or even a few years for forum rule violations, so are able to use the site but not the forums until their ban is up.

^^^^^ That sums it up quite nicely - thank you

But how does the person who was deleted know whether its for few days, years, etc? and are they just deleted from forum, and still able to create new profile,I believe everyone deserves a chance, just cause someone doesnt like someone on here, they can file complaints against them and also incorporate there friends to do so,then the person gets deleted for being unliked? Iam sure alot of bogus claims are done daily...

Markus has MAGIC.

In his bag of tricks is the ability to access all data related to a users profile and that is not limited to profile information.

It is anything that a user has ever done on HIS site. So if he deleted someone from his site it was for a substantiated reason and he does not give warnings. The TOS (terms of service agreement) is already the warning.
