How about we try to actually learn a little here? Here are some things I've learned throughout my years.

Hurricanes produce enough force that if one hurricanes power were harnessed and converted into electrical power, it could give enough energy to power the whole of the continental US for 3 whole years!!!

If done correctly, using an eyedropper, you can place approximately 100 or so drops of water on the head side of a US penny.

Pure amonia is much stronger than the cleaning products you buy and if you take so much as a half a sniff out of the bottle of pure amonia, you'll have a b!tch of a headache for about 3-4 hours afterward. lol.

As we age, are taste buds actually lessen. This is probably why we can actually stomach eating liver and other gross foods when we're older. lol.

A 300 lb man at a construction site can jump 6 ft. if he's fearful of breaking a board that he should otherwise use to walk across the ditch. lol.

A 170 lb man should never attempt to lift the entire frame work of a wall by himself up to the second floor where it needs to be placed. Gravity has a way of pulling the board loose of the nails. lol.

These are some things things I've learned in my years. Some are funny, but all are true.

Good idea. Here are a few things I have learned that are equally un-useful but interesting…

Xrays and light can pass straight through even the most intense magnetic field without being deflected even though they are both electromagnetic radiation.

A woman can stand against a wall with her bottom and her heels touching the wall and bend over and touch the floor without falling over. A man can’t.

The monitor you are watching has only red, blue and green phosphor and is capable of producing the color yellow but there is no way one can combine red, blue, and green artist’s paint to come up with the color yellow.

If a human being had the relative strength of an ant, you could walk along carrying your automobile in your arms.

The oxygen you breath is actually the color of blue and unlike xrays and light, CAN be deflected by magnetic fields.

All the stars in the sky could have disappeared last night but you wouldn't see the event for many, many years. (well other than the star we call the Sun, that is)

Well all I can say is hairspray gets permanent marker and ink out of clothes and white vinegar gets all stains out of carpent and furniture. If you put a cup of water in front of you when you cut an onion you won't cry. LoL

Ants won't cross a chalk line.

Get rid of hiccups by letting a packet of sugar dissolve on your tongue. Or, drink a sip of soda and put your head between your knees, swallow that way.

A Bounce dryer sheet in your pocket will keep bees away.

Get water or steam stains out of a wood table by using some vegetable oil and table salt and a soft cloth. Wipe with the grain.

Women who have good relationships with thier grandmothers are supposed to be emotionally stable (something to keep in mind for the 20 questions of a first date perhaps)

On the flip side, stay away from women who wear excessive jewelry - issues.

Get blood out of clothes with a soak in hydrogen peroxide before you wash them.

That's all I got for now

Pure ammonia is a gas at room temperature, requires a pressure vessel for storage and is incredibly soluble in water. When it comes into contact with moisture - say in your eyes, nose, mouth or throat, it instantly forms aqueous ammonium hydroxide, a chemical quite similar to lye which burns living tissue. When mixed with air in proportions between 15% and 28%, it's explosive. A headache will be the very least of your worries.

If you hold a lighter up to your butt and fart, it catches on fire. You have to light that lighter though.

Per the fart factoid: Only one third of humans actually expel methane when they pass gas. The other two thirds are primarily hydrogen. When methane burns, it burns blue...hydrogen burns that yellowish color. Hence, an exclusive club called the Royal Order of the Blue Flame has actually been established for those who are blessed enough to produce methane. (How's that for a fact that will get you nowhere in life? Further more, why is it I can remember this stuff and not where I put my keys?)

I don't know why you can't remember where you put your keys, because I have the same problem, but did you all know that when you can't think of someone's name, and then 3 nights later you wake up out of a dead sleep and there it is?? That's because your brain is constantly searching the files of stored memory until it finds the info.

Angeldeb, thanks for that tip. I got permanent marker on my kahki pants while I was at my desk tonight. I figured they were done for. I'll try the hairspray. Right after I get some sleep

God Bless You

Now what have I learned?

Reading Forums on POF is not a cure for Insomnia!!!!

Men AND Women are guilty of rudely not responding to thoughtfully written emails or even cut and pasted ones

Some very courteous Men AND Women do reply to emails they receive.

The volunteer Mods try very hard to keep us all from to to to and I salute you all

The Admin is the Supreme Commander of POF! We gotta play by his rules or he'll kick us outta the game.

By the same token, the Admin provides us all with a wonderful FREE dating site so we can make fools of ourselves with and maybe even fall in

Some guys/gals can't stand anyone over a certain body size Others love them

Men and Women want to be together

Too many of us aren't

But we are all in the right place!

Thanks POF!

God Bless You,
HT

Actually you can train your mind to do this in almost real time. It is the same idea of studying very hard before an exam and then spending the night before the exam at the movies or other relaxing thing.

The subconscious mind is what maintains your "database" of information as it were, so it works better at retrieving and sorting information when your conscious mind is concentrated on other things.

Back in the days of my prime, I was a computer expert and I would arrive at the customer's location and just absorb whatever anyone wanted to tell me about the problem and the history of their computer system. Then, much to their dismay. I would leave and go have a break where I would try to drill all that info into my brain as intensely as possible for about 15 minutes, then I would just forget about it like the machine was running fine. I would come back from the break, and after about thirty minutes of idly poking around the machine, the solution would just come to me in a flash.

Most artists and musicians and anyone in a creative field does this on a daily basis. And yes. It will work to find your keys. You simply replay the events from the last time you remember having your keys for about 15 minutes and think intensely about as many details as possible, even the ones that have nothing to do with the keys, but those that set up the images of the day or days. Then you forget about it as though you have already found the keys and soon your mind will fill in the missing bits - which includes the image of you putting the keys in whatever location they are.

It takes some practice to get it down to a few minutes, but it works.
