| Lipstick... Posted: 5/24/2006 9:37:31 PM | does anyone actually use lipstick?
the other day, I saw this old lady buying like 20 lipsticks for .99 cents each, cause they were going out of stock or something at a local store here. ever since then, I realized something, and began observing people to see if I was right, and indeed it appears that I was...
I don't see anyone wear lipstick at all... or very rarely. of every girl I work with, most said they almost never do. of my friends that I asked, all but one said they couldnt remember when the last time she did... my friend that does wear lipstick... well it's a given in her case, its like mandatory if your goth...
I don't remember any girlfriend I ever had, using it... I can't think of any time I ever remember my mom using it. my sister doesn't... the only person I know that regularly uses lipstick, is my grandma... and she uses it alot, like every 2-3 hours...
I made it a point to really ask my friends and such about if they did or don't use lipstick, not just try to see if they do. most don't... or rarely do.
so now I am wondering, is lip stick like fruit cake? you know someone out there has it, but does anyone use it?
I have no interested in lipstick and such... it's just a weird observation I had recently.

| Lipstick... Posted: 5/24/2006 9:52:36 PM | I notice a lot of women wearing glosses and whatnot. I think women are trying to look more natural, younger these days.
I do see women wearing lipstick, but they are more careful now days, it seems, with color choices.
I like pinks, cool reds, and some neutral tones. Glosses and carmex are used more often than not.

My lips are very pale and I don't like bare lips

| Lipstick... Posted: 5/25/2006 1:02:25 AM | Griffen,
Lipstick is still prevalent, its just less obvious and not used like clown art in todays women. As Posters have already said, woman today use a gloss or a neutral shade that is goes with her skin tone.
I have 5 sisters and most of them wear a neutral shade, and my mother might use a light rose color when she's dressed for work or special occassions.
Personally, I'm a sucker (pun intended) for pink shade of lipstick.

| Lipstick... Posted: 5/25/2006 6:55:04 AM | | It makes me feel overdone so I tend not to wear it. | |
|
| Lipstick... Posted: 5/25/2006 7:23:04 AM | | I guess this is MY topic LOL. Course girls wear lipstick or there wouldn't be tons of it in the stores and ads in every magazine you pick up. Speaking of mags, check out all the hollywood stars wearing it. The thing is that its more natural looking and we usually use glosses for everyday wear so while you think we aren't wearing it, we are...but its more subtle. | |

| Lipstick... Posted: 5/25/2006 7:27:35 AM | | <~~~~~~~~~ what do you think? LOL | |
|
| Lipstick... Posted: 5/25/2006 11:17:54 AM | question...
if you can't notice a person wearing it... and it matches thier skin tone... why wear it?
|
| Lipstick... Posted: 5/25/2006 3:39:36 PM | Last longer than Chapstick? Carrie, I know it must take a whole stick to cover those lips, eh? | |
|
| Lipstick... Posted: 5/25/2006 4:22:29 PM | @griffin....all make-up should enhance a woman...and not be obvious.
Unless we are painting the town red on an evening out. LOL
|
| Lipstick... Posted: 5/25/2006 4:24:43 PM | Griffin: it is worn to plump up the lips and hide the natural grooves...
I don't wear it often cos one of my male friends said he hated kissing someone wearing lipstick cos then he'd end up wearing it too lol, but then I don't tend to wear make-up anyways.
|
| Lipstick... Posted: 5/25/2006 5:48:20 PM | | I wear lipstick all the time....I own about 100 of them...and didnt pay 99cents either lol...I just like the way it looks and feels on my mouth... | |

| Lipstick... Posted: 5/25/2006 5:50:31 PM | | yah Iam a lipstick freak lol..I love my lipstick cant go newhere without it..except for bed..and the shower haha | |
|
| Lipstick... Posted: 5/26/2006 7:49:54 AM | | I dont wear lipstick....buuut I totally have a gloss fetish. One of my favorite things to buy...lip glosses and flavored chapsticks, lol...I think I have every flavour you could think of. Sometimes I use a natural coloed lip-liner...and gloss overtop...but I don't find lipstick very natural looking. However, some people suit it pretty good....I'm just not one of them LOL | |

| Lipstick... Posted: 5/26/2006 8:40:52 AM | I never wear any form of makeup & dread the day I'll have to not only wear it, but wear a dress too
I like who I am & always have. Just last year I had a group of customers (when I worked in a postal outlet back in ottawa) yelling at me, about skipping school to work. They honestly thought I was 14!! That kind of thing has happened many times in the 3.5yrs I was there.. It was litterly a monthly event & I had to keep my ID on me at all times to get them to go away & not call the police...
*hugs self* | |
