| Profile jackers. Posted: 5/25/2006 10:20:04 AM | | I think somehow someone jacked my profile and started responding in the forums as me. I've found posts that I did not type. Is it possible that someone on POF doesn't like me enough that they would sabotage my reputation by doing this? How is it possible for them to even have figured out my password? lol. | |

| Profile jackers. Posted: 5/25/2006 10:40:11 AM | I've had it happen to me goodguy..... a troll once copied my whole profile word for word, as well as all other pertinent information, and one of my photos.... to then go and try to character assassinate me in the forums. Thankfully I am friends with quite a few of the mods and they quickly put an end to his rampage.
I suggest that you copy the links to the posts that your profile jacker did, and send them off to one of the mods for their review. They'll get to the bottom of it and find out who's the culprit.

Can someone pick the EXACT same name as you?
@ OP
I found this post of your yours making fun of the previous post in that FORUM see below. I noticed the JOINED DATE on both of the post was the same. 01/23/2006 Also noted the posts were on the same day, TODAY, within an hour of each other.
"Ok, I don't know how my ID got on here. Thankfully, I've had time to edit this. lol."
Wondering why you would be lol'in about it. As I also see that you did in your opening post.
Just my observation. Maybe you are just attention seeking.

| Profile jackers. Posted: 5/25/2006 11:20:07 AM | | It could be someone that got access to your computer at home when you were'nt at your computer for a second. Maybe you were still online and logged into POF if that was the case they could easily go into edit profile and discover your password. Change your password just to be on the safe side | |

| Profile jackers. Posted: 5/25/2006 11:42:59 AM | When I had had my own troll fan.... he had put a period before and after my nick name to his fake profile. But it was pretty plain and obvious to all my friends from the moment he started his smear campaign that it wasn't me. Only because it was all and nothing but trash talk and BS.
When I BS people it's obviously a spun story mean't to entertain and hopefully result in a laugh!

| Profile jackers. Posted: 5/25/2006 11:59:03 AM | Yeah, I used to go to a chat room and had my own troll. I used a nickname of duchess giggles and if you put an extra space in between, you wouldn't know the difference. It was kind of cool though...my very own stalker. | |

| Profile jackers. Posted: 5/25/2006 3:11:10 PM | | Yes it's happened to others. U sure you weren't just drunk though? | |

| Profile jackers. Posted: 10/7/2006 8:51:54 PM | It's possible. A friend of my daughter told her..(this was before I ever joined POF)..that she had figured out the password of a guy she was writing to, just by knowing more about him, and for kicks, went in and changed his whole profile just to be funny. They were teenagers, and you are young too, so it's possible that is what happened to you, if your password is easy enough to figure out.
Or do you have 2 profiles, and maybe accidently posted under the wrong one? (If so, shame on you, as it is against the rules) I know my daughter and I are both on POF, but she doesn't do forums that often...so when she DOES, since she uses my computer, sometimes she forgets to change her password...and just changing the one for email, does NOT change the one on the forums. Then she has to post below it, saying, "Sorry, mom"

Was that a case of PWD (posting while drunk) or was it someone else using your computer?
One day a friend came over nearly an hour early when she wanted to ride downtown to a medical conference with me. I was busy editing something on my laptop so she used this computer to sign on here cause she wanted to see if some guy wrote to her. Problem is, I use automatic log-on for everything, so . . . the buttinski type psychobabble doc that she is, I heard her laughing and almost cheering and thought that must have been a hell of a reply she received. Then she got up and said with a straight face: “You get better e-mail than I do!” Uh huh, I should have known! LOL
Lucky for me, she didn’t play any tricks and write back to someone under my name. . . . She considered it, though.
But I got the last laugh, cause I know the guy she was waiting to receive mail from and sort of forgot to tell her that. Later, she noticed that he sent a joke to my real e-mail address. So, when we all went (separately) to the Dearborn campus of U of Michigan to watch the Michigan & Michigan State football game today, I gave their budding new relationship a little push by introducing them in person. So, they freed up a little POF bandwidth by trading phone numbers. Both are rather fast workers, I noticed, and they already planned to do something tomorrow. (He’s a very bright engineer, so I doubt very much that she’ll be trying to psychoanalyze him anytime soon so they are safe together. But, what neither knows yet is that both like to play tricks on people. So, this is going to be interesting to watch.)
I have to watch when someone uses my computer because they can get onto anything I do here and some things are not supposed to be seen by others.
Oh, and when she left, she also left her POF log-on information on my computer. She’s right, I do receive more interesting e-mail than she does.
