So far, I have cleaned the inside of my van and am gonna wash the outside of it in a bit. Did a load of laundry and stuck it out on the line. I woudl rather being sitting on my deck with some wine, but I drank the last of it at noon...hehehe

| Activities for Hot Days Posted: 5/28/2006 10:33:37 AM | Cold beer store still open
I mowed my postage stamp sized lawn with a whipper snipper. My arms feel funny.
Went to Ilene's for a little visit and to pick up my car. I thought about cleaning my car but that's as far as that idea went. Did a few dishes...now...I have a movie in and think I'll just wrap up in a comforter and doze off for a nap.

| Activities for Hot Days Posted: 5/28/2006 4:05:04 PM | I live on a street full of kids, so I brought out the water guns and offered my lawn hose. Before I knew it the young, old and in between were engaged in a all out water fight BLAH HA HA HA…. Summer is great. After, that I painted some old furniture that I wanted to match my new house, did a little laundry took my little one and his friends for ice cream.
Ended the day with a BBQ and a Sunday night movie with the kid…. Nothing like a hot summer Sunday!
Now would be a great time to get some adult cuddle time…

| Activities for Hot Days Posted: 8/18/2009 7:45:23 AM | | ^^Apparently booze is a no no at supervised beaches. Seems the cops have been on a rampage the past few days with ticketing vehicles and such too. | |
|
| Activities for Hot Days Posted: 8/18/2009 11:34:12 AM | lol...that is what Tim Hortons cups are for one doesn't display what they're drinking lol
yes, apparently cops ticketed 194 cars yesterday at Rainbow Haven and close to 200 at Conrads Beach...c'mon...where the hell they expect ppl to park, that is just mean of them...not like they are blocking city traffic, ridiculous!
I travel on motor bike to beach...small enough to squeeze in anywhere lol
|
| Activities for Hot Days Posted: 8/18/2009 1:17:48 PM | Water... water, and more water! Whether I am drinking it or swimming in it, it is the only activity I want to be doing when it is this hot. I just got back from the lake, and as nice as it was, it could have been a bit colder. | |
|
| Activities for Hot Days Posted: 8/19/2009 7:09:44 AM | Go to the shade if you can find any... Walking or jogging in the heat, is unhealthy for anyone..
Also drink water, not too much, in moderation to prevent you from becoming dehydrated..!

Yes, completely ridiculous. I mean, after all, it's not like there are EVER emergency vehicles that may need to get through there with cars parked in no parking areas all along both sides of the road. After all, it's not CITY traffic they're blocking, so it doesn't much matter whether the fire truck can get to the house that's burning down because the extreme heat and dryness allowed a grass fire to spread to it, right?

| Activities for Hot Days Posted: 8/19/2009 4:47:15 PM | | And the odds of someone actually needing an ambulance is probably slim too. ;) | |

Go to the shade if you can find any... Walking or jogging in the heat, is unhealthy for anyone.. Wrong, exercising in heat can increase the cardiovascular benefits and only people that are already unhealthy should avoid strenuous exercise during times of extremely high heat.
Also drink water, not too much, in moderation to prevent you from becoming dehydrated..! Not to much? No. When it comes to water, there is no such thing as too much.

Wrong, people have died from water intoxication, which causes sodium dilution in the body. Usually happens during stupid frat house hazing rituals.

Wrong, people have died from water intoxication, which causes sodium dilution in the body. Usually happens during stupid frat house hazing rituals. Most adults can tolerate up to 15L of water a day.
With water intoxication it is not so much a matter of how much you drink but how fast you drink it.

| Activities for Hot Days Posted: 8/21/2009 11:51:21 AM | These hot days aren't conducive to dating. If someone came at me for some 'cuddling activity' in this heat, I'd have to clock him. | |
|
| Activities for Hot Days Posted: 8/21/2009 1:28:51 PM | these cars weren't parked on the road, they were on the dirt shoulder..no lanes were blocked...all reg traffic wasn't interupted

these cars weren't parked on the road, they were on the dirt shoulder..no lanes were blocked...all reg traffic wasn't interupted I assumed the cars were not parked on the road. I also know the width of the road out there, and if there are cars parked on the dirt shoulder, and cars traveling on the road, there is NO ROOM for those cars to pull over OFF the road as they are legally required to when emergency vehicles are approaching. That's the entire purpose of the police department ticketing those vehicles. Those who were ticketed should thank their lucky stars the police didn't simply tow them away.
