| "AVERAGE SIZE" for females....
Posted: 5/29/2006 9:50:08 PM | Now days seem that all out here have different perspective of the term of AVERAGE size . What does AVERAGE SIZE female mean to you in your eyes/opinion...Give examples. (example - to some AVERAGE SIZE female meaning 5'5" @ 165 pounds/size 12 jeans....to others AVERAGE SIZE means 5'5" @ 120 pounds/size 3/5 jeans). So I just want to hear what others out here think...come on and voice your opinion- BE HEARD! To those that are bothered by this posting. As for the ones that say "not nice to ask a female her weight"....we are NO longer in the 50' & 60".  | |

We have to be realistic in the fact that not only the women, but, the men change in shapes too. So, average is only in the eyes of the beholder and what age the beholder might be. I know this does not answer your question, but, it might help on other people responding and their age groups. | |

Posted: 5/30/2006 7:41:35 AM | A female who is 5'5" and a size 3 to me is skinny... the same height who is size 5 is average, I bounce back and forth between a 3 and a 5 and consider myself average. I also consider a size 7 to be average, ... you can not bounce a quarter off my belly like when I was in my 20's, but I am no where near heavy, the body just shifts as we get older SAME goes for men!  | |

Age, Height, weight, body fat, breast size, waist size.... just to name a few. Two people could be the same weight and height but their body could look completly different. One woman could have a majority of the weight in her Breast, the other in her Hips or Butt... There is just no way of saying whats "average" | |

I work in a women's clothing store and I see that this is more than a trend. I also know that different life stages contribute to wieght gain. I think that eating out more and lack of exercise are also part of it...but my opinions do not detirmine how attractive a woman is... | |

I look decent in a size 12 Jean, do to Lunges, squats, and aerobic classes. I would be not all size 12's look the same thing. The chart shows how much one should weigh for how tall they are and that is the basic size average. Example for a woman that is 5'4 she should weigh 135-140 lbs. to be average. If she is 5'4 and weighs 150, then she is not average, she has a few extra pounds. Everyone carries their weight different, but it is still on them somewhere, maybe to much in the rear, or to much belly, they might have it all over. But tech. the are still a few extra pounds over weight. Also I don't think that going by the size of clothes is good, because it really depends on the type, and maker of the clothes. Some jeans I wear are size 6, 7, and I have on pair of 10 and they all fit me right. My shirts are the same I can wear a small, and med, some shirts from E. Outfiters in the mall are lg, and they all fit me the same. So I myself do not go by the sizes of clothes. Just by my height and weight. Keep in mind this is only my opinion of this issue, not meant to offend anyone. | |

Sorry to burst your bubble, but, even the U.S. Government has acknowledged that those chats are not correct in some cases. They have gone to measuring body fat too. If you are 5'5 and are more than the scale and you have a 40" chest, go do the math. If you are a male or female body builder, the chart is out the door on you. At 6'2" and at 200lbs when I was playing football in college, I would not fit those charts. Charts said I should be around 185 and yet I had a 32-33" waist, 44" chest. I don't believe we can sterotype any body style to say "average" unless you just plain out say you're not skinny and not overweight. | |

Just now days MANY are becoming soooo freaking lazy wanting everything "handed" to them ...convience. No one seems to enjoy EXCERCISE...has this now become a FORBIDDEN word to say? LMAO When a female TRIES to tell me that she is 5'5" and wears a size 14 or larger in jeans that this is average...NO WAY POSSIBLE...IF this was AVERAGE size now days...they would not use the word "LARGE" and stores would not be out of sizes 3-5. IF one disagrees with this ...next time you are in a store..go to female section and check. You WILL find the racks that have sizes 3 to 5 CLOSE to being BARE IF NOT bare....but ample supply on the LARGE racks. | |

I am 5’9 and I weight 148 lbs. I do not consider a woman that is shorter and heavier than me to have a healthy body average weight.
By the way, bodies change because we change our life styles. If we eat the same way we did when we where 20 but we do not exercise as we used to do, then our bodies will change. A sedentary 50 year old person does not need the calories of an active 20 year old.

We woman, have to strive to look like covergirls, while some of the guys out there, look as if they will deliver a child, in the next 48 hours. Oh, and the skinny ones, bones are not appealing either.
Hey guys, we have to color grey, wear makeup as to appear not having any on, stylist hair.
So please take us as the average woman we are!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! | |
