| | Best songs for strength and for mourning/painPage 1 of 13 (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13) | I'm working on putting together two CDs full of music that does 2 opposing things. Any great suggestions for songs would be wonderful (modern or current songs preferred, but certainly share some classics because they're worth it). Some days you need CD 1, and other days CD 2.
CD 1 - this CD has lyrics or music that brings out the tears. It's often all the love songs, the mourning songs, the hearbreak songs (e.g., "Let's Stay Together", "My Immortal" by Evanescence, "When September Ends" Green Day, "I Will Always Love You" Celine Dion, "It's You And Me" the Turtles, "Let's Give It One More Try" Timmy T, "Breakaway" Kelli Clarkson, etc).
CD 2 - this CD is the one that energizes and strengthens the heart, perhaps slamming the other person or giving hope for the future (the classic "I Will Survive" by A. Franklin is tops, "You're Toxic" Brittney Spears, "Mrs. Independent" Kelli Clarkson, etc.).

I could'nt tell you which CD to put it on as they can be tear jerkers for some but I found that although they made me cry, in a weird way i felt peacefull at the same time (if that makes any sense). | |

These have helped me through the worst of times after breaking up.
1st - "Lessons In Love" by Level 42, Album - 1984
2nd - "Slow Emotion Replay" by The The, Album - Dusk
These are really good songs with better messages than most main stream songs you've got listed.

It is about a guy who had a thing for a girl as they were growing up and the girl wouldn't give him the time of day. She ends up marrying and living a fairly dull and crappy life while he goes on to become a huge recording star.
The theme is...you wouldn't give me the time of day then, so how do you like me now? Look at your life and look at mine. You coulda had this.
Unless I misread your post and you were referring to the second song as being about missing someone. If that is the case then this whole post was pointless!! | |

Well, one thing is for sure, I have the best songs for mourning a broken heart, i played them continuously for about a year.

But by far the song I listened to almost non-stop is by Evanescence and is called Missing
