I love Rock & Roll Music but I also like R&B(I have a R&B Forum too).I Like Groups in catorgies like: Heavy Metal:IRON MAIDEN,DEF LEPPARD,OZZY,DROWNING POOL,MEGADETH,METALICA, MOTLEY CRUE,MOTORHEAD,JUDIST PRIST,KISS,QUEEN,BILLY IDOL(Prince of Rebel Rock), SKID ROW,RATT,TWISTED SISTER,VAN HALEN & others.I HATE these new **** bands they suck. Real metal bands are Pantera, Black Sabbath, Slayer, Megadeth, Saint Vitus, COC , Mastodon, Lamb of god etc. The bands you like are hair metal bands or just hard rock. I know what im talking about so please dont get offended. I just thought a little constructive crticism would be helpful. Please respect the bands i spoke of becaues they all are real metal bands and are serious about that term. As a fan of metal i just had to speak out on this,good luck. | |

It is a matter of taste. For some people, bands like Motley Crue, Dokken, Poison, Twisted Sister and all those make up bands were posers and not real metal.
For others, the only metal bands are like Slayer, Venom, Metallica, Metalchurch and all the other bands with the names that are so weird I cant even pronounce well.
I am more into the CLassic Rock, Seventies and some of the 80's metal like Maiden and Metallica. But I listen to so many types of music it is hard to pinpoint my real taste. Of course, I cant stand rap and all that nonsense because it is not music to begin with, just a bunch of dopes with twenty pound chains and hookers in their videos to make up for their lack of talent. | |

There are so many subgenres of Metal and Punk and Rock it is easy for us to hate on eachother. I wont listen to Glam or most nu metal for instance. I am sure you can not dig on most rap. There are so many subgenre of rap it aint even funny. But most of us metal guys cant even stomach rap or at least most genre of rap. | |

Seriously calling me a moron when you listen to lamb of god and glamtera(yes the shitty buttrock band which started smoking pot one with Phil and now they are groove metal which is a total rip off of exhorder a band that had that sound before diamond darrell and rex rocker ripped them off) is hilarious and megadave aka(the man who cant keep a band together and is the biggest disgrace to metal). All Venom did was coin black metal they were not a black metal band they were a cheesy thrash band with satanic imagry thats what sold records and they never toured til 1982. Bathory started the sound but never played live more than 4 times in its whole existance all quarthon did was start a possible subgenre but was far from being the best in that genre because he didnt improve til later when he began doing viking metal in the late 80's Celtic Frost started off as a ok thrash metal band(with make up) and turned into a hair band in 1988 with cold lake lol. Seriously its a new era black metal is very well indoubt and has progressed ie Nokturnal Mortum, Dimmu Borgir, gorgoroth and limbonic art. If you want to say any band started "black Metal" it was Bulldozer in italy not venom or bathory. You might need to research you metal again.....Black Sabbath is dead get over it metal has progressed and has many great sub genres...Thrash was really redundent and unorginal other than the big 4 from 1981 Anthrax, metallica, Megadeth(yea i dont repect megadave), and Slayer...The only good thrash that came out Sodom . Brutal Death Metal (influenced by Suffocation 1995- current) Nile, Deeds of Flesh, Dying Fetus, Disgorge and intesttinal strangulation. Yes there is diversity in death metal and TRUE metal head knows that. No offense I cant call anyone a real Metal fan if they are wearing a down t shirt.

You are 34 which means you're not that old either sorry, I have been around the metal scene since I was 10 and have played the milwaukee metalfest on several occations and know several metal bands personally(meaning bands on roadrunner, metalblade, and century media records) so i dont want hear about being schooled by some wannabe burn out. Actually Sabbath started nothing they were a band called earth at first playing blues. Blue Oyster Cult and Steppin Wolf had them beat. What black sabbath did do was make metal heavier with new ways of doing distortionand toni Iomi cutting off his finger tips in a industrial accident which made him down tune his guitar. They did manage to start Doom metal(later became Amorphis, Anathema, Novembers Doom, and Mydying Bride) unlike their counter parts. The Birth of metal goes to Steppin Worlf, Mountain, Blues and Chips, Rainbow and Blue Oyster Cult. Not Black Sabbath thats the typical moron answer thats like saying the sex pistols started punk. I mean seriously this is a pathetic attempt at schooling me sorry bro I lived it. I know more about metal than you will ever. Sorry they are Not the best metal band I do respect what they have with the scene I only liked one sabbath era that was with Ronnie james Dio which was very well written that was when they came close to being the best.  Down is total garbage not a talented metal band at all seriously most Glamtera side projects were pure utter failuers and down is too pentonic based they are no Symphony X or Sonata Arctica by any means. You have to remember neither Rock or Heavy Metal are period related so that causes a problem both are from the 60's during the late 60's split in music from Rock 'N Roll.
