I think I'm offended because I want to be recognized for more that just appearance. That and the context in which it was used...To make a long story short...I'm trying to organize a get together and some guy posted something along the lines of "let's make sure there is some eye-candy that shows up so it isn't a ausage fest." I find it offensive!

jool, it's hard for a man to recognize you for more than that until he gets to know you ...in regards to the messages he sent you...you must realize that some men in general are so stupid when it comes to women....you should just take it with a grain of salt and either laugh with him and treat him like a little boy or just ignore it.

Advice: Be careful and be aware and be strong. I used to be "eye candy" when I was younger. It made my life a living hell. Had my own business, but was questioned by Men as to 'who my boss was' (got NO respect for having a brain) ... was invited to parties for entertainment purposes (I could have been a rich girl, but...) ...was once fired for not having sex with a supervisor! After that one, I purposefully gained weight. I now work for a woman. I'm older. I like this life better.

Jool,

Not to offend, but you are, from what I can see, a nice piece of eye candy I wouldnt mind getting to know.

What they guy was trying to say, was he would like to know for sure that women are gonna be there and not just guys.

Some guys just dont know how to come across with words that are not offending. He was prolly brought up in a home where the women didnt get much for respect. I see that alot.

As a matter of fact, I was in Wal-mart a couple weeks ago. With my cousin and his daughter. we were looking for shoes for her inthe girls area. Two guys walked thru and one said, "we wont find anything here, this is the bit ches section". Wow was I shocked. I couldnt even say anything.

well here is my take on it

some guys write women on here
and say stuff like wanna f*ck?
so those types are idiots for sure.................

BUT

take compliments with a smile
eye candy is kinda disrespectful in a way
no different than hottie though

what if someone used a term like
plain,chubby,thick,stocky..........etc?

cause there are people that fit that explanation..................
so if someone thinks you are hot
go with it and be happy

all he was saying is, he wants some nice ladys to show up so that it's not all men..

I am sure if there were all women signed up and one man some women would say... we need some man meet up in here.. were are the men.

kind of an example of if it can be taken two ways and one is the wronge way.. the wronge way will be the one chosen.

Hi Limo, eye candy. No you shouldn't be offended. If you want to be recognized by your personality and intelligence then respond with a thank you and invite some intelligent discussion with the guy. Then if the conversation goes only to sex you know he's not worth your time and you can block him.

Like many terms it can be said in an offensive way, or not. We are all entitled to the validity of our own perceptions. I hope if someone uses the term "eye candy" they mean it in a nice way, and it causes no discomfort when it is heard.

Yes, later in life it's the personality and mind that are attractive, but the looks are what keep them. I agree with this.

yes being attractive is not a bad thing
but, you better have a brain and a personality to back it up.

@beautiful orchid

that is right

As I get order I learn this more and more
A man spends way more time talking to a woman than he spends being intimate
with her so the personality is key

I have had the pleasure of dating very beautiful women In my time so far
but,the looks thing kind fades away after awhile as in you still notice it
but it does not effect you in the same way.

So men out there trying to pick up the ultra hottie..................
get over it ..............cause once you have been there you see that
just looks are not enough

AND many of the real hotties are not completely developed mentally
this is because they had no need to develop an intriguing personality
cause they are getting by on there looks.

want to test this theory?

look at the profiles of the really hot "fembots" on this site and read what they say........
they tend to be
fake tan,fake boob
bar chicks,gym rats
that are looking for there muscular fake ken doll man to go to the gym with..................

wow, that is really deep hey?

Is being described as "absolutely amazing in bed" something to feel offended by?

Regardless of your response, I've still thrown out there the idea that I'm amazing in bed. Catch my drift? Sneaky.
