Honestly Shaque is not dominating like he did before, and Wade is injury or ill proned lately but they are a good combo
But honestly Dallas is more stronger defensively and jsut have mroe weapons, anyone can carry that team
Lets take a look, Dallas had ti easy with Memphis but then stopping the defending champs with Duncan, Parker, etc almsot playing themselves in 7 games
Then taking on Nash and Diaw, in 6 games
Dallas has had the more harder teams to face, and they simply do have a better team

they have diop,dampier and mbenga as people to use for fouls if they choose on shaq
but i do give dallas credit as they got a real nice team and i feel if nash stayed there and became what he did that team would run the league with all those players | |

Posted: 6/13/2006 9:36:02 AM | I live in dallas (i was born raised and will die a LAKERS fan). Been here 3 years. I despise the Dallas Mavericks, almost as much as Shaq for leaving the lakers and all that went down.
I am tired of everyone in dallas thinking the mavs are THAT good. No, Miami is just THAT BAD.
If you look at the playoffs this year there is not a single team that dominated. Not like the lakers of 2000-2002 (not even the spurs dominated), the lakers back to back team that went 16-1 in the playoffs, yes. That was the SHAQ we know. This shaq is old slow and cant CATCH the ball.
Cut the "wade is better than kobe" talk right now. There is no way in HELL that shaq/kobes lakers would even allow this "good but not dominating" Mavs team to win like they have been winning.
I am SICK of hearing it from Mavs "bandwagon fans" (remember i LIVE here and i can tsee mavs mania..from people who couldnt even name you the starting five)...they have this attitude that nobody gives them respect..hmmm..ok? You have CHOCKED and done nothing for the last 28 years (this being your first finals appearance) you have to earn the respect. Period. The mavs (and the gay CUBAN), got lucky and beat an OLD, (injured tim duncan..he was injured...make no mistake about it)...in that game 7...they beat an overachieving Suns team and overrated at that.
I say everyone gives the MAvs WAYYY too much credit, the miami heat are JUST that bad, if they cant get up for the NBA finals, they dont belong there, at least dallas is playing hard..as much as i hate to admit it..(but to say they are dominating?..garbage).
Dirk is the most overrated player in the league..he can shoot...he can drive a bit now..(has no back to the basket game and for #@@# needs to BULK up some)..
anyway..
Kobe and the lakers (young team) almost beat the suns (literally one rebound away in game 6)..and that same team almost beat the mavs...obviously the league is WIDE open.
As much as i hate shaq nowadays..and the heat..i DO not want the mavs winnning..and having to hear all these freaking fans ready to call "DYNASTY" talk..
anyway..
hopefully the heat can make it interesting at least.

You talk about the Lakers being that good yet you blow a series lead. That is something no one will every understand.

Mack truck..you have no sense or knowledge of basketball if you fail to see, yes the lakers lost a 3-1 lead..with whom?..kobe and lamar..and basically a bunch of nobody's....
ok..now take that laker team in 2000-02 (which is what i am talking about) they would have KILLED these mavericks.
Mavericks arent that good, get it?..heat just plain SUCKS.
period.
And the fact that mav writers are all giddy (like fools) about them beating SHAQ..hmm.this isnt the same shaq of old, with the mobility and the dunks and the hooks and fadeaway and the whole repertoire...so shut it.
Mavs suck...they have choked and FINALLY are doing it, but they cant be a dynasty...give them this one lone title...it is about time..like i said..
lakers will be champs again ...mark my words...
reports say Kevin Garnett to LA.(let's hope it happens)

Posted: 6/13/2006 4:14:24 PM | again DumbA$$...shaq isnt the SAME shaq...so yes he still cant shoot free throws..but the fact he had 5 pts. doesnt mean that the defense was great, it means his offense was that terrible.
All they do is set him up on the left block..he is catching the ball WAY too far from the basket...shaq has seen double triple teams...you forget this man won 3 CONSECUTIVE finals mvp's.
soooo anyway..
oh and when comparing lakers and mavs...we OWN you guys..series/history/everything wise..so i would best shut up now. | |

hmm lakers beat the mavs 112-90 in LA this year (see kobe 63 points in 3 quarters).
Then we beat you in dallas again this year too...so what are you smoking son?
