| Met a nice guy who has bad teeth... Posted: 6/17/2006 5:25:27 AM | | I went out with my friends last night and met this guy who was kinda cute and nice and we talked for a little bit and he asked for my number...We were having a nice conversation, and then he smiled real big, and his teeth were brown and rotting at the tops! I have never met anyone with rotting teeth and I was horrified!!! here comes another dilemma- A friend of mine lived across the street from him her whole life and she told me that if he called me, to not answer the phone - that I shouldnt get involved with him because I am better than that, etc. NOW I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO - THIS GUY SEEMED REALLY NICE, BUT HIS TEETH ARE BAD AND MY FRIEND TOLD ME TO STAY AWAY ----ANY ADVICE? WOULD YOU GO OUT WITH A GUY WITH GROSS TEETH IF HE WAS NICE AND WOULD YOU LISTEN TO YOUR FRIEND OR GIVE IT A GO?? | |

| Met a nice guy who has bad teeth... Posted: 6/17/2006 5:35:15 AM | OUCH...... thats a tough one... first i'd want to find out WHY your friend told u to stay away, her answer might make u stay away all on its own, regardless of his teeth..... and i KNOW its shallow, and we shouldnt think/feel the way we do, but lets face it... appearances DO matter.... only you can decide if it would bother u too much...my only concern would be... usually, bad teeth that you have described usually means bad breath..and i know personally, thats not something i could deal with, or kiss.. good luck with this one!!! | |

| Met a nice guy who has bad teeth... Posted: 6/17/2006 5:39:23 AM | well the teeth is something you look at in the face most times or the face period, is not ike he have 3 fingers or 3 toes you can deal with it, it can always be covered, but the teeth is a no no unless he have some good ass dental plan. | |

| Met a nice guy who has bad teeth... Posted: 6/17/2006 5:40:20 AM | | you are 27 so I am assuming the guy is close to your age which makes it strange to have that problem at this age even if he doesn't brush his teeth. make sure he is not doing crack cocaine. crack and some other drugs can cuase teeth to decay the way you describe it. | |
|
| Met a nice guy who has bad teeth... Posted: 6/17/2006 5:47:04 AM | To each their own. If you do not want to become involved with this guy because he has bad teeth then that is your choice. Do not feel bad about it, as I am sure if he is as nice as you perceived then someone will pick him up.
I got hit in the mouth with a glass pepsi bottle, shattered the roots of my front top and lowers. I really really miss my smile :( But it will be back, perhaps not a genuine smile as they will be dentures, but ill be able to be a bit more expressional then. I became really good at grinning though.
I understand what you are going through, mate and I do not judge you. Peer acceptance is important in any click...I just hope you didnt let a good guy get away because of his teeth.

| Met a nice guy who has bad teeth... Posted: 6/17/2006 5:49:21 AM | When it comes to teeth and kissing.... teeth rotting makes me not interested in kissing... because its rot and bacteria...
so if it were me... I would have to pass.
Refer him to a good dentist and if he fixes his teeth and gets rid of the rot...
maybe then.
Otherwise he might make a nice "platonic friend"
|
| Met a nice guy who has bad teeth... Posted: 6/17/2006 5:51:26 AM | | You know if you really think he is nice, he could always get his teeth fixed. Its hard to fix a nasty personality, but the teeth are easy. | |
|
| Met a nice guy who has bad teeth... Posted: 6/17/2006 5:53:55 AM | fixing teeth is expensive... I'm sure if he could have fixed them.. he would have.
Its not easy when someone has no money and apparently he doesnt.
rot is not what I would want to put in my mouth or kiss someone with rot in theirs.
|
| Met a nice guy who has bad teeth... Posted: 6/17/2006 5:55:01 AM | | uonlylive1ce is right. Tooth decay on the tops of the teeth near the gum line is indicative of certain kinds of drug use. | |
|
| Met a nice guy who has bad teeth... Posted: 6/17/2006 5:59:36 AM | I was just going to say that...what's easier to fix, bad teeth or a bad person???
Anyway, I'm SURE he's gotta be aware of the problem so ask if him. If he's as nice as you say he is I'm sure he won't mind. He did ask to call you so you could just bring up the issue ina casual conversation and see what he says. Something like the next time you talk about your jobs or something, mention your benefits and see what he says.

Not necessarily, I have a brother in law whose teeth started to decay when he was 25 and his dentist told him that for some people it's just genetic that their teeth are week and don't get enough calcium. When they started to get too bad he just had them pulled and now wears dentures at 30.
By the way, crack will rot teeth but a big one is crystal meth, if that's the case don't just walk away...RUN!!

| Met a nice guy who has bad teeth... Posted: 6/17/2006 6:05:38 AM | I am trying not to be offended by that. But the fact is, it is correct. Unfortunate stereo type, but there it is. Crack heads, if they are that far gone, generally are not nice unless they want money, a fix or are hiding something..even then its obvious that they are users...It has a smell that is as clear to non users as smoke is to non smokers.
I have never been acused of be a drug addict for any reason, but I also keep the teeth I have left in good order. I go through pain to eat and more pain to brush them...but it is not my teeth that are damaged (the ones that were are long gone) but the roots...coming up with 2500 to 3k for dentures is tough, even if you make good money...dental plans, or at least some of them, wont cover dentures for they say its Cosmetic. It really sucks to have bad teeth or lack of there of =p
But as I said, I would never judge someone who did not like me due to that fact, but I would become offended if someone assumed i was a crack head..but that is me.

| Met a nice guy who has bad teeth... Posted: 6/17/2006 6:11:18 AM | | It's funny the little quirky things we have. I have a thing about teeth too. I love a beautiful smile right there with a great set of teeth. If they are discusting, how can you think of anything other than that when you are kissing. That alone would gross me out. | |

| Met a nice guy who has bad teeth... Posted: 6/17/2006 6:11:45 AM | So he has bad teeth lol should we base how you/any of us feel upon someone who has bad teeth?
What if you met somebody who had ALL/EVERY single thing you looked for in a person and he was sweet kind careing honest and trustworthy but didn't have the certain look but not ugly real cute guy, but his teeth was a little "NOT" perfect.?
Me honestly if his teeth wasn't good and a little bad i would/could get over that part i mean it is what you feel on inside for this person not whats on outside if he makes you happy (so far) and you two hit it off well and hes not the abuseive type or cheating type, why not go for sometimes what you need/want could be standing right infront you.
I had learn the hard way and now i'll never get the chance back, but i don't want what i went through, to happend to you or anyone else and i wish you luck on your situration.

| Met a nice guy who has bad teeth... Posted: 6/17/2006 6:16:10 AM | | Most peeps wont take the time, Broken_Wings. If they see something they do not like or feel embarassed to be around they walk. It is unkind, but then we are all guilty of it in one degree or another. We are imperfect, faults displayed or not displayed..bad traits and bad habbits...but there is someone for everyone..in that I will forever hold faith. | |

| Met a nice guy who has bad teeth... Posted: 6/17/2006 6:19:12 AM | | You're right there. A lot of people these days seem to be looking for the "perfect" person right off the shelf. They won't settle if they're a little fat, skinny, hair's wrong color, etc. To them it's like shopping for a pet. Then what happens, we have a whole generation of people now who are going to be approaching 40 and 50 years old and will be still single and b1tching about "they can't find mr or mrs. right". | |

| Met a nice guy who has bad teeth... Posted: 6/17/2006 6:19:59 AM | | Your right loboblack i think same way there is someone out there for everyone even tho it might take others longer to find it but i know what i look for in a person and i am not that picky all i want from a guy is for him to be kind honest respectful don't hold things back from one another, and just be HIMSELF and i will return the favor because to me there is more to a person than their looks/background. | |

| Met a nice guy who has bad teeth... Posted: 6/17/2006 6:52:48 AM | Bad teeth is a sign of poor hygene. Missing a tooth in the front I could handle, as long as he was getting it looked after and getting a fake one or whatnot. That could be something sports related. Everyone can make their faces and hair and body's look good, but so many people now a days skip over one of the most important parts of their bodies.. Their smile. I myself cannot date someone with rotting teeth, even someone with poorly kept teeth I can't (i dont mean crooked teeth). Someone with bleeding gums, brown teeth, rotting, stinky death breath, etc. Theres so many things someone can do to keep up on their mouths, flossing once/day only takes 5 mins sitting at the computer, brushing should be more than a habit at our age. I can't kiss anyone with a yucky mouth, Im gagging at the thought of it as I type this.. eesh. | |

You're typing like you're going to turn 80 tomorrow!!! Most people are in their 20's and 30's right now! If you're letting yourself go now, how is it going to be when you do get old! Quit making excuses for not brushing your teeth and flossing! You're all not 10 years old anymore! Take care of yourself now and try to keep what you have for as long as you got! Theres a huge gap between 30 and 80! (and yes I know a couple elderly people with their real teeth at their age. Thats what I want)

Nope im NOT typing like im going to turn 80 tomorrow..... I am just saying basicly it should NOT matter how a persons mouth looks on the inside i mean there are some young guys who do not have all their teeth and some who dont have any at all because, they had them pulled and there is NOTHING wrong with that because to me i look on whats INSIDE of the person aswell as i do on outside but what matters most is how they will treat me and how we will get along and if they are not the cheating/beating type because i do not need that around my little boy.
Everybodys allowed there own opion im just stateing mine like we all have none of us are same none of us are looking/wanting the same thing and some stuff may not matter as much as it would, to somebody else.
(I know in lousiana..... its alot different than any other state.)

| Met a nice guy who has bad teeth... Posted: 6/17/2006 7:40:17 AM | I guess it is different. Not sure how it is down where you are. I just know up here, I prefer not to kiss a dirty toilet bowl mouth that tastes like it's full of poop. I personally cannot stick my tongue in someones mouth if its like that. OP: Just think about how you're going to feel all the time. Are you going to enjoy kissing him all the time? Kissing is a huge part of a relationship, if not one of the biggest. Thats how I see it. I don't mind if someone doesn't look like a model, i'm not overly picky, I just have to know that I'm going to enjoy and want to kiss my partner all the time, and he better be ready to be kissed a LOT! So a clean healthy mouth is not too much to ask really. If you're questioning it now, kiss him once, if you dont enjoy it, that should be your answer. | |

| Met a nice guy who has bad teeth... Posted: 6/17/2006 8:01:37 AM | I know somebody verrrrrrrrrry well who got their teeth pulled because they was haveing toothaches all the time and to me its no different in somebody with teeth or without but everybody's different and not all of us care about personal stuff like that and the person i know is VERRRRRRRRY CLEAN person just they had, some bad toothaches and decided to get their teeth pulled but where i live alot of people dont have their real teeth or no teeth at all and they are not the hillbillyish looking type.
To me i "KNOW" there no difference in kissing somebody with/without teeth because i have before and i couldnt tell difference i guess i just rather go for whats on inside than whats on outside and how that person treats me and if they don't abuse me.

| Met a nice guy who has bad teeth... Posted: 6/17/2006 8:26:46 AM | | i mean, it bothers me so i guess i know the answer - but what my friend said about how i should stay away from him makes me iffy anyways - shes known him her entire life and told me to stay away from him because he is bad news -- that obviously means he has bad teeth AND a crappy personality right?! | |

| Met a nice guy who has bad teeth... Posted: 6/17/2006 8:37:09 AM | Ouch, Lobo
We all have imperfections but, for me, I like someone's teeth to look clean. If they're discolored then they look unappealing.
