I haven't noticed too much of a change except that I've matured enough that I now have the financial ability to do most anything I care to. I spent my 30s working to get out of the debt incurred during my "gotta have it now" 20s.

Since we humans position ourselves in time based on when we were born, we count by decades the stages of our lives. By 40 a lot of us have gained a new perspective on life especially since we realize that we are at the half-way point of our life expentancy. Therefore, I think we tend to reavaluate those things that are important to us and put other things into their proper perspective. Done right, we can "live like no one else" before 40 so we can "live like no one else" afterward.

I'm actually struggling more to survive now than i did in my 20's.That's because the cost of living is much higher n the good jobs are hard to come by n hold on to n also I have to admit some of the choices I've made than n now don't help me much. But i am tired of moving n struggling. My son just turned 20 n moved out-I raised him by myself. He has more of life than i do.When do i get a break???

Oh yes they do and I love it.

As for life starting at 40 it all depends what you did with your life before 40. I had fun in my 20's 30's and I am still enjoying life in my 40's.

Alot of people at the age 40 or around that age decide that its time to do the things they haven't done yet. They just want to do more before they get to old to enjoy doing things really thats all it is. Sex is better at 40. Just becuase you decide to start enjoying life and sex more. Its all about changeing your mind set. Simple

For me, life began when I left home at 20 (yes I know I slacked off for two years, I was a bit late), and despite a few rocks in the road...I have been enjoying life since then. Wow...18 years of good times! Woo hoo!

Yes, for women it is true. We tend to become more aware of what we want in life.

For me that meant goodbye games!

Nope, it doesn't begin at 40. I don't know where you are for age, but it begins there, just maybe in a different way. Not necessarily a worse way, but a different one. I'll be 37 next month, and my life's pretty good. I'm a homeowner, it's a starter home, but I'm heading in the right direction. I'm single, so I spend my weekends doing what I want. I don't go hang out at strip clubs but I find things to do.

Yes life does begin at 40!! You know what you want, and what you don't want.confident, spontanious, and can enjoy life.Im happy, have a great career, found turning forty was life changing, all for the positive.Sex drive also high...You are comfortable with who you are and have become, not a girl of 20,you can take on the world,so to speak. Most of my friends also agree, all state sex is even better-stronger sex drive,passionate-they call it -peaking !! Only have heard from one friend that turning forty was a low point,nd that was a age issue-but she also stated sex drive was even stonger-must be the hormonal changes we start to go through-not sure, but who cares,I'll enjoy this for as long as it lasts..

Life begins at conception. At 40, we start the downhill ski competition for the graveyard.
I'm 41, and I was having a hell of a lot more fun in my teens and early 20's. Then again, life is what you make it. I just need to climb out of the rut and get back on board the party train.

I didn't notice any changes.

Except for the lack of blood flow to my feet in the morning, the higher my upstairs got, the way fruit seems to digest and I suggest she gets on top now..............

Well atleast you would THINK most people over 40 over 40 know what they want and stuff, but from many I have seen on here atleast , I doubt it, No offence to them or anything but just an observation. BUt yes i would say typically over 40 people would know better what they want.

The only reason that I can think of, that someone would believe a statement like this is, because they want to believe it, and most people believe only what they want to, no? Plus, it sounds pretty good...(so, therefore true to them)
On the other hand, if you want to believe something bad enough (or good enough) and all you have to believe in, is your beliefs, then, this statement might be true to you too...
It's sort of like making a dream or a wish come true..How adept are you at doing that, OR how much can you convince yourself what you believe is true?
Pretty simple..........for me... life began, literally, at the beginning.
go ahead, condemn me for being so pragamtic..but I just had to....
NO, Life does NOT begin at 40!

I was married and had my first child by 21 lost my husband at 38 , but yet I have more energy /sex drive /etc. now then ever before

no medical problems ? and Im told I still look 38 lol
I think its that each one of us handles our 40s in different ways ,

Now I do notice Men tend to slow down by 40 lol

I plan to enjoy my life , in my 40s/50s /60s lol till life makes it inpossible lol

I wouldn't wait for 40 to begin your life. Start now. 40 means nothing if you haven't learned how to live before then and if you have, it's just another number.

My life didn't begin at 40 ~ but it certainly gets better the older I am. I agree with other posters here ~ I have a very crystal clear picture of who I am, what I want, what I will NOT settle for and I have a calmness that didn't exist previously. Life (at any age) is what we make it. I for one, wouldn't want to return to my 30's and I definitely wouldn't want to re-live my 20's. It's all about perception. You get out of life what you put into life.
