i've always thought it was because men are very visual and really enjoy sight stimuli...lingerie just helps to create an image that can turn men on. | |

Posted: 2/25/2005 1:04:43 PM | Lingerie has nothing to do with love, just the other two L-words - lust and libido. The fun stuff is *almost* revealed by these things, so it gets both those motors running.
As for us guys dressing up in "skimpy things to catch your eye", I did ask in a previous thread about guys and thongs, and got a unanimous "EEEEEEEWWWWWWW" from all you lovely ladies, so that's why we don't do it! LOL

Who is carring a few curves but who isn't fat. Who does have a few small wrinkles.
Who is completely comfortable talking about it or doing sex.
Who's attitude to bad lovers is "There's no such thing. There's good these batter, adn there's orgasmic."
Who likes wearing sexy lingerie becasue it makes her feel sexier.
The guys will see such a woman as georgeous unless she's absoloutely dog ugly. In that way love is blind. Or , more accurrately, the guys eyes play tricks on them. | |

Lingerie is popular because wearing it is a win-win situation. I love wearing sexy lingerie because it seems to intensify my femininity and encourage my sensual side. I love the way I feel while wearing it. I have "everyday lingerie" and "special lingerie". When there's a special guy in my life, I've found wearing sexy lingerie keeps the romance fresh when it's in the early stages and rejuvenates the romance and lust for each other when the newness starts to decrease in intensity. Those spontaneous romps behind closed doors make it well worth the effort it takes to stay in shape to look good wearing it.
I agree with the OP that men enjoy sight stimuli - if this wasn't the case, then there would be no market for sexy lingerie, men's magazines and porn. I must admit that I am as equally visual as my counterpart when it comes to sexual stimuli - it's a total turn-on to see a well dressed, physically fit guy whose total look and attitude is oozing panache.
Lingerie is quite popular because it encourages a women to feel sensual not only for the guy in her life but likewise for herself. Since a guy is so visual, the image of his woman wearing sexy lingerie keeps running through his head - oops! a play on words  when he's away from her. I'll say it again... the effects of wearing lingerie is a win-win situation..  !!

It's not just the clothes themselves that appeal.
It's the fact that you're going out of your way to talk to me in my native (visual) tongue.
It's the fact that for once, at that moment in time, I *know* exactly what you're thinking when you're buying those suspenders. I *know* exactly what you're thinking when you're doing up that corset.
It's the fact that you get to look and feel (and act) like that sex goddess that's buried deep inside you, yearning... aching.... to come out.
And the fact that I'm the guy that inspired that wanton sex goddess to burst forth.

And women who go out of their way to dress sexy almost always do all the other things that we like too; perfume, hair done nice, good grooming and hygiene EVERYWHERE, etc. not to mention the fact that she's spent all that time thinking about the sexual side of the relationship, it's already got her in the mood. It's just nice. But ladies, try to find out what your guy likes, maybe leave the victoria secret catalog around and go through it together. I hate animal prints, and there's no easy way to tell someone that what they think looks sexy as hell is actually a turn off without insulting her in some way. | |

Me walking around in a t-shirt and thong was enough. I think it is cool if you like it. I am kind of a basic girl and don't like to spend money on that kind of stuff because I have so many other places for it to go when I have kids and horses, but I would wear it if it was a gift. I think different things stimulate different men.........I must just pic the guys that don't need a lot. | |
